'Climax' will officially make Sana Khan a South actress

You're now a better known face, thanks to Bigg Boss.
Indeed! When I started shooting for Climax, not many in the industry might have been all that familiar with me. And now, when my first film here is ready for release, contrary to the near zero fan following I had at the time of the shoot, I have half the nation talking about me!

How has the show changed you €" personally and professionally?
The show was almost like a grooming session for me. I was the youngest contestant on the show and being with a more mature group €" among them, big names €" helped me learn a lot. I discovered the other side of me; I'm impatient no more; and I can handle any situation better than I would have earlier. I was just myself on the show from day one to day 100. The chirpy, bubbly, talkative me you saw on the telly was never a put on; that is essentially me. When I entered the Bigg Boss house, I had no face value. Now, here I am, as one among the top three! True, I can't be diplomatic. I don't try to be sweet and please everyone. One of the participants on the show even commented that I didn't understand things and was blonde, but I used the remark to my advantage. In any case, I wasn't on the show to prove my intelligence. However, by the time the show ended, I have people who I can actually call good friends. Professionally, I have better offers coming my way now €" be it films, ad campaigns, events or stage shows.

We hear a film with Salman Khan is in the offing?
While it is true that I've already got a Bollywood offer, I wouldn't want to talk about it until the makers make an official announcement, which will happen this month-end.

Didn't you have any apprehensions playing Silk, right in your Mollywood debut?
Not in the least. In fact, it's a great opportunity I got as a newcomer in the industry. Though, I play a sweeter version of Silk in the film. Till date, I've been a part of only commercial films in the South. With Climax, I hope to keep getting intense and intelligent roles as Silk. Incidentally, Climax officially makes me a South actress as the film completes my debut in all four industries down South. The only apprehension I had playing Silk was whether I'd live up to the director's vision. Thankfully, the crew were a helpful lot and helped me slip into the character with ease.

Will you be choosy from now on, given your new-found star status?
I'll continue doing films as long as I get good scripts. It's not like I'll take on only glam roles. I want to play a gamut of characters from girlfriend and lover to mom; so, when years later I look back at my career, I'll be proud of the variety of roles I've played.
