Sunny, Amrish Puri and Meenakshi were all excellent.

Its a mirror to the broken justice system of this huge democracy that is India. You still hear about cases that have been going on for over 20 years. Corruption and the loop holes in the legal system, its a free for all in India.

You don't even have to get into a high profile case. Just getting a tenant off your property can take you 10+ years and lakhs of rupees and remember this is your own property. Jiski lathi uski bhains, is the sole rule to follow in this sham of a justice system.

^hahah agreed for petty little things justice is hard to get...fighting against the mighty upper class is beyond the imagination of a common man

Sad that Indians say we have progressed so much...but getting Starbucks or Dunkin donuts doesn't determine your progress

If a common man can't depend on the law and enforcement then they have no hope
A women cannot walk on street safely...which is a disgrace to the society

I also just watched damini recently! Still relevant in today's time, but there are a few things that I would like to change in the movie! If I was damini I would never accept my husband back! On top of that in the end she touches his feet! This movie is feminist and anti-feminist at the same time!

Sunny Deol was excellent, Meenakshi was very hard hitting as well especially the scene towards the end when she talks to Chada

^agreed Meenakshi was so powerful...class act by her...sad she left the industry quite early

If someone I see matching her in this role now is probably Tabu or Vidya

Damini was fantastic..a hard hitting script and Sunny Deol just takes the movie to another level. He completely over-shadows Meenakshi and Rishi. It had hit music too...BTW Aamir Khan has done a guest appearance in Damini for song n dance...😊

I so wish Sunny Deol and Raj Kumar Santoshi work together...

Santoshi best work has been with Sunny Deol...Ghayal, Damini and Ghatak...

BTW there is one more movie by N Chandra...Aankush...Nana Patekar is the only known face...That movie disturbed me no end...That is another movie relevant in todays time...

N Chandra and Raj Kumar Santoshi were really good at one time..they would showcase social issues brilliantly..I don't know what happened to them afterwards...they just lost their mojo...
