They dont have 100% hit record, Players was a huge flop. But before that they were really good.

They have made some really good films: Baazigar, CCC, Ajnabee, Humraaz, Aitraaz...even smaller films like Tarzan, 36 China Town and Naqaab were very decent! And Race-1 was okay too.

But with Players and now Race-2 I feel they have lost the spark, I think they're trying to do the same thing over and over again and formula isnt working 🤢

They need to reinvent themselves.

It seems so from the bad reviews Race 2 is getting. Maybe it's time for them to retire.

It holds good for any one in creative field.

You become victims of your own image...fall into the trap of re-churning the same formulaes that worked for you once...

Frederick Forsyth wrote many Master pieces but none of the class of The Day of The Jackal. Yash Chopra was a huge brand in India and equations of business are such that his Jab Tak Hai Jaan would still end up grossing millions, but can the movie come anywhere near his master pieces like Deewar, Kaala Patthar, Silsila, Kabhi-Kabhi etc.?

In general, for most, ideas reach a saturation point and beyond that, either you have to do something radically different that has no bearing from anything you have done in past, or keep excelling in what you know best.

Abbas-Mastan came up with this concept of not letting you predict whats up next. Their movies have this standard theme of good guy is bad guy but he turned bad because he is good kind of maze! PLAYERS was the nadir they reached and would be interesting to see how they have fared in Race-2!
