SRK-Arjun cold war comes to an end w/ warm hug

Cold in public, warm in private. Well, that seems to be the case with Shah Rukh Khan and Arjun Rampal, whose fractured friendship has been creating quite a stir these days.

Both SRK and Arjun have been quoted in their interviews saying that they are here to work and not make friends. And though they have reportedly been giving each other a wide berth, the men are not ready to raise an epitaph to their friendship, just yet. Backstage at a recent awards function, SRK and Arjun hugged and made up. And this is how it all panned out.

According to an eye-witness, "Shah Rukh left the stage after his performance and went back stage. He had parked his vanity van near the exit so that he could change quickly." Incidentally, it is for this same show for which SRK had been practising when his friends were partying aboard Hrithik Roshan's yacht. His absence had raised plenty of eyebrows.

Standing very close to the van were Arjun and Chunkey Pandey, who were on a smoke break. That's when Arjun waved to SRK, who was surrounded by his bodyguards. "SRK waved back at him, smiling," says the eye witness. SRK joined the two, "He greeted Chunkey and enquired about his well being. He hugged Arjun and had a quick chat with him." So was there any awkwardness? "Not at all," claimed the eyewitness.

"SRK and Arjun seemed extremely cordial. That's what it appeared like." T he interaction was over in a couple of minutes and SRK continued to his vanity van leaving Arjun and Chunkey to their conversation. A far cry from the meeting at Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur's bash when SRKArjun had 'looked through each other,' eh?
