Has Talaash been unfairly ignored by award juries?

Award season's here and Talaash is being royally ignored except for nominations and awards to Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In some awards Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor weren't even nominated. Vishal was awesome singing Jee Lein Zara and it's a shocker he wasn't nominated!

Excel usually sweeps awards for most of their films. AKP also wins (even though Aamir refuses to acknowledge awards).

What happened this year? Why such a royal ignore?

Agree Talaash didn't perform as per expectations but still it didn't deserve to be ignored the way it was (considering even Ra One received awards despite being panned).

Isn't it extreme bias?

I liked it but aamir isn't nominated cause he himself does not send reels to to these award juries

Aamir didn't send reels even at time of Lagaan, TZP and Delhi Belly. But all films won awards.

Hes snubbed because he boycotted awards esp the one thats about to come he spoke out against them

I am glad its being ignored and instead smaller films like Kahaani, Vicky Donor, Barfi, EV are getting nominated. Excel's movies are all over-rated in the media(apart from DCH). Last year ZMND swept the awards due to lack of competition. But this year the competition is very tough. Great BO performance would have blinded the award function organizers ofcourse. But since that happen despite Aamir's presence in Talaash the smaller films are rightly being recognized.

the movies and others get recognition but not him as an actor though he did get critics once in rang de basanti since boycotting i rem but 3i every single person etc were nominated but not him!!

Yes it has been...Maybe the movie didn't live upto the expectations of some...but what about the topnotch performances by Aamir , Rani and Kareena?? How come Kareena has been nominated for Heroine and not Talaash where she was flawless...and really Salman has been nominated for D2 and not Aamir...give me a break...I don't really care for these awards other than National awards...but sometimes its so ridiculous...

EDIT: if i am not mistaken RA-one mostly recieved the technical awards...and the technical aspect of RA-one was the best...

Aamir has been against them since 1995. Still he did get nominated every year and won for Lagaan, TZP, Delhi Belly, RDB. JTYJN also got nominations.

Why only this one so royally ignored?

And maybe they can ignore Aamir but why ignore other actors of the film and Vishal Dadlani for Jee Lein Zara? That song is class apart and is quite popular too.

What are you saying aamir was nominated at every freaking award show for 3 idiots even tho he was the weakest performer in the film

That year I recall Salman was snubbed for WANTED and his career defining performance
