Having a last name different from your parents does not make you not-your-parents'-child. A lot of people have different surnames from their parent's (father) like Olivia Wilde (13 or Dr Remi from US series House - she changed her name legally as she was inspired/respected Oscar Wilde a lot and used it as her stage name as well.

I heard Katrina's biological father is someone other than her-now-father (who I am assuming adopted her). A lot of children when they are adopted by their parent's spouse change their last name legally for sentimental or other reasons (her mother changing it for her when she was still underage etc). It doesn't make them not their biological parent's child anymore.

Also, sometimes actors have different stage names like Akshay Kumar - his real name is Bhattia something or something Bhattia. Also, pronouncing Kaif is a lot easier than the English sounding Turcotte. A lot of English/American actors who are from different countries change their stage names to more easily pronounced ones to make it easier for audience/directors/agency reps etc to remember them.

Even Imran Khan has his mother's last name...His father's last name is Sen ...if I remember correctly...but He had left them so Imran's Mom used Khan as his surname...

No it's her mothers surname. Her name Suzanne Turcotte and her children all of them has had that surname for ever. And it's okay 😊

Yeah and it's not just katrina and imran many other stars even big stars has changed their name. For example akshay not only changed his surname but also his first name.

So it's not a big deal which some people are making it out to be.

I have mostly seen salman fans making a big deal out of this. Which is ironic. Because salman also changed his stage name. He did shorten his name so it got simple.

It's something normal.😊
