So, I want to have a topic with lots of analysis in it. In this topic, we will rate the careers of actresses since the 90's. You have the following choices:

NR = NOT RELEVANT 😲

T = TERRIBLE 🤢

A = AVERAGE 😕

G = GOOD 😉

E = EXCELLENT 👏

C = CLASSIC

So, I want to get started and indicate examples here. MADHURI was EXCELLENT, AISH was GOOD, PREITY was GOOD, KAJOL was EXCELLENT, MAHIMA was terrible, SONALI is not relevant, etc.

Now I ll tell you why I chose those actresses

Ameesha Patel because I loved to be bashed by Cherryans :)
Mahima Choudhry,loved her in Pardes, but her career is such a fiaso..
Aishwarya fo average, because at one time she was no.1, but now she has become one of bw's most hated woman ( by audiences)
PC cause she is my fav.
Kajol cause she was a diva in the KKHH days
Madhuri because she is still doing films at this age, and thats what I call a complete career :))

Rating the careers based on the body of work, longevity, popularity.

Classic - Too early to say any recent actress' career is classic. We'll have to wait a few decades to decide.

Excellent - Vidya, Aishwarya, Kajol

Good - Rani, Priyanka, Kareena, Tabu, Manisha Koirala, Juhi, Madhuri

Average - Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Preity Zinta, Urmila Matondkar, Bipasha Basu

Terrible - Amisha Patel, Mahima Chaudhry, Ayesha Takia, Esha Deol, Twinkle Khanna, Bhagyashree, Antara Mali, Nisha Kothari, Gracy Singh.

Not relevant - Sonali Bendre, Shilpa Shetty, Amrita Rao, Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen.

Great selections. 😉 However, Aish's career was not excellent by any means. She had flops for several years after Devdas and having hits in Dhoom 2, Guru, Jodhaa Akbar, and small successes like Khakee, Sarkar Raaj balanced it well along with low-budget films such as Chokher Bali, Raincoat, and Provoked. So, I say she was good for her verstaility. But her success ratio is poor compared to Rani, Kajol and Vidya who had a better filmography!

After Devdas (2002) she had success in Chokher Bali (2003), Khakee (2004), Bride and Prejudice (2004), Raincoat (2005), Kajra Re (2005), followed by Dhoom 2, Guru, Provoked, Jodhaa Akbar and Sarkar Raj in 2006-08. Sure she had more flops compared to Rani and Preity in 2003-04 (may be cos at that time they were doing the movies she was supposed to do). But overall, her hits outnumber Rani's. Rani's career pretty much was done in 2005-06 and Preity's in 2006. But Aishwarya, despite being their contemporary and senior (age-wise), she had a much longer run as a top actress.

Also, my definition for a good career isn't just hits and flops but also a quality filmography, which essentially means good cinema, followed by longevity, and consistency of being at the top. Aishwarya had an upper hand in most of these areas and hence IMO she had an excellent run.
