Media has habit of exaggerating even one achievement of one star but ignoring others.

SRK has done different and risky characters in Darr, Anjaam, Baazigar, MNIK, CDI, Hey Ram, Dil Se, but gets typecast and accused of not trying different genres. Srk got the due when ever he played different character ..but the moment he tries to repeat it in other movie , It gets flopped ..reason he overdo it...so He always goes back to Romance...:P

You can see how someone called Ghulam unconventional. It's as if it's some trend to call any film done by Aamir as unconventional. Agree Ghulam was not some Exceptional movie...it was an O one..like someone compared with Ghatak...which was Awesome ...Aamir fans should really sometimes stop making Aamir a Big Figure...Too many Exceptions is bande ko le doobenge...lol

Sanjay Dutt got zero due for Munnabhai series. If same films were done by Aamir they'd have put him on Cloud 9 and given credit to him forgetting Raju Hirani (as they ignore Hirani in case of 3I).

Sanjay to got a Credit...Its only Hirani who has never got any...lol

Looking at these points Talaash could never become a blockbuster and Aamir had underplayed himself. just go through this.

*Talaash was a dark film...and it was clear from the promos that there is no spark. such mystery movies never open good but it did only becoz of Aamir.

*lacked good music - it didn't have superhit music like JTHJ or dabangg 2. remember music plays a bigger value in getting the film good box office numbers. aamir knew what he was doing. all songs from 3I were superhits.

*lack of promotions : lol shahrukh and salman were all over the media..for their films but Aamir didn't care, itsy bitsy here and there he was hardly promoting the film like a 'AAMIR KHAN FILM' heck as aamir is considered a markettting genius Talaash was a failure from the promotions level.

after all this, Talaash became a successful film. don't bring down Aamir on just he couldn't deliever a blockbuster. I CAN CHALLENGE SHAHRUKH AND SALMAN both at this point to go through the FILM LIKE THIS...and make it a BLOCKBUSTER..unke forefathers bhi nahi kar sakte..because its a niche film.

BTW even Ranbir & Co. did not promote Barfi much and it was a non holiday release. It crossed 100 crore mark.

- Talaash is not a niche film. Even Box Office India wrote the same. Niche films aren't released on 2600 screens. It is an underperformer as per BOI and a moderate success as per Taran Adarsh.

- Maybe other Khans can't manage such a film. But what about Aamir's own "standards"? BTW, SRK's super-panned bullshit film Ra One crossed 100 crore, whereas Talaash stopped at 90. Nowadays every major star's film crosses 100 even if it's shitty. And Aamir is pioneer of 100 crore club so should have managed to crawl to 100 at least. No?

Content-wise, Talaash is rated 7.4/10 on IMDb whereas Aamir was famed for his films rated above 8 there (especially in 2000s decade).
