I will make it easier here only...
A Rickshaw owner, A Auto Driver, A sweeper... all low class ppl who enjoy movies mostly in Single Screens, may be some in plexes, but majority... A large chunk of this section never went for "Barfi", "Vicky Dono", "Kahaani" kind of movies... Now to blame them not to understand it is out of question, simply these movies trailer didn't attract them.
Now these 3 movies earned whatever is from those who were interested in these movies, they watched it, they loved it, they suggested it to their friends... so on Excellent WOM, these movies got some success...
Now if that Success is Half of what films like Ready, Rowdy or ETT has earned, so u will put whole Country India into divisions of illiterate, poor ppl who can't connect to it???
Every Quality Indian film which now days critics term n majority IF members also say was having 3 times better Word of Mouth, WOM means it amplifies business of movies. So those films business should have touch new heights coz of everything ruling in their favor. Critics, praises, everywhere good good for them. Multiplex Hit majorly these movies, where Ticket rate is almost double, in metroes n on weekend it is Tripple. Having all these advantages, still these movies can't come close to that success.
In comparison, Critics se lekar WOM -ve, everywhere mixed reviews - Still Masala Crap movies have done double/tripple BO Business.
