Well shame on Aamir then! Honestly why do these men allow this? Maybe I'm naive but I still have hopes that Aamir will take sufficient pains with his stories to justify having children as female leads---but then I freely admit I used to think SRK was "the smart one" who would never, ever just sit back and allow himself to be so ill served by his professional colleagues, so that just proves how little I know!

Still and all I don't think SRK needs to retire so much as he and his team need to reconfigure his old image and bring it up to date with who he is now.

A romantic/attractive/sexy adult isn't beyond his abilities OR beyond belief.

I dunno...I feel of the 3 Khans it's usually SRK who has taken pains to justify the age difference when it comes to the new generation (barring JTHJ with SRK-Kat so dunno what happened there..or was there one and I just don't remember?)...

I mean Aamir was still playing a college student 3 years back at 45! People ignored how stupid it looked afterwards because the film was great.

I don't think anyone in BW works with age-appropriate actresses anymore...which is just sad :(

Its so weird and sad that the man who had no issues playing father to an 8 year old at 30, when his own son was barely a few months old, now is racing to working with actresses 20 years younger than him...😕

why is this even an issue? if they work with younger actresses and look justified then they are doing a good enough job, Aamir for instance did not look his age to me in 3 Idiots- he looked like a student and his pairing with kareena was just fine- i am sure he would even make sure he looks fine when he is opposite anushka as well!

the only awkward age difference pairing i have seen is himesh-hansika! other than that its all good as far as it looks convincing!

i dunt have any problems with them playing 5 year olds for all i care...they need to look the part...

like aamir in 3I...sure he didnt look 16 but he didnt look 50 either...he could pass off for a college student...he did take some pains to look tht way...by "unbuffing" himself from the ghajini days, in terms of his look..his costume. his body language..i think he got a few botox shots n stuff done as well...whtevez...he suited the role fine...and i appreciate him for tht...

i dunt mind srk doing raj n rahul stuff as long as he either somehow manages to get himself to look the way he did 10 years ago...

@Koiza: TBH Ive been cringing watching the romance in most the recent films starring 40+ men unless its a SRK-Kajol or Aamir-Rani. No matter how good they look for their age..no matter how fit they are...its just not the same as it was when they actually did movies with age appropiate pairings. One off hatke pairings like Cheeni Kum are fine but not the sort we see in almost every movie.

I also used to think tht...the Khans should be acting with actresses their age...but think about it...isn't acting convincing people of what u r not in real life...Its just pretend...so as long as the actors look convincing together as a couple ...I don't think that age should matter...of course its more convincing when the couples are almost the same age...but in the end its all make believe...nothing is real...its not as if they are romancing them in real life...tht would be wrong...but in movies its OK...

But Smarie he/they cant. No matter how hard they try...the effort to look in their late 20s or early 30s is obvious as compared to say Ranbir or Emran who are actually that age. IMO I would want to see SRK doing more romantic roles. With JTHJ he proved he has no competition when it comes to romance. But he needs to play his age or atleast characters close to his age with a decent script ofcourse.

yeah cheeni kum was convincing because the story itself was based on the age difference and they nailed it there!

but yeah no matter how much they try to make it work- the older pairing charm can never return. SRK-Kajol had a certain charm which these current ones do not match with!

The age difference should be weaved into the story. Like SRK-Anushka pairing looked justified in JTHJ as compared to RNBDJ simply because we were told there is a 17 year age difference between the two.
