yup...i hate it when they attach those lame as taglines to films...

"an epic romance"
"a love story beyond romance"
"a timeless romance"
"a classic romance"
blah blah blah blah...like STFU...im gonna decide wht kind of a love story it is..u dunt tell me no shit..😆

plus i hate all the self glorification yrf indulges in...yash chopra dosent indulge in it himself...but his company makes references to his past glory to a point it gets soo effin irritating...

as for heroine...kareena lived up to my expatations...bhandarkar screwed shit up...😆...so i blame the later...dex dont u dare say anything to my princess...u izz haterzzz...😡😆

Me too...Smartie...me too! 😆 This is why I can never watch a Bhansali film without rolling my eyes. Even then, I haven't finished some of them. What's with all the pretense?🥱

Yea Kareena's acting was fine but Heroine was a botch job as well.

Dex, I would put Ra.One there instead of JTHJ because Ra.One was the one where SRK really went overboard calling it best thing since sliced bread...but JTHJ's hype I noticed was more on its own because of the names involved, and the events of the last month.

SRK was fairly careful not to overdo the shit he says during the promotions this time. He kept calling it a film that is very dear to him because it's Yash Chopra's last and all that jazz. ..I think he learned from Ra.One days.

I agree with Ra.One. I was gonna put it up there as well...but did not want to come down too hard on poor SRK. He's by default my favorite because of Salman these days. 😆😆

Anyway on a serious note Himani, I do think JTHJ was hyped unnecessarily though. Sure, this time around, SRK had practically no hand in it...it was mostly because of YC's demise, the feud with AD etc. But leaving that aside, it was marketed as this epic love saga that will destroy all the BO records, win over critics and what have you. My gripe is...what's the need for all the pretense...let the film speak for itself.

yeh bhandarkar is into much self glorification himself "main realistic filmein banata hoon" (which by his definition means everyone is into booze, drugs, smokes cigarettes and is sexually promiscuous and successful women cant hold their shit together...)..even remember in fashion...where he makes an "apperance" and a model remarks "madhur bhandarkar hai...realistic filmein banata hai" *rolls eyes*

that guy is like a dhabba on feminist filmmakers...😆

same with adi n yrf (excluding yash chopra himself coz hes pretty humble)..."a yash chopra love story" "romaaance is defined by yash chopra" "yash chopra makes the best love stories"..." the man who gave u awsome movies" ...like they keep yappin on and on in all their pr articles and even their first teaser of JTHJ...

they should have just let his CURRENT work speak for itself rather than cling on to his past glory...

Regarding Heroine, has anyone ever played that game with friends where every time you see a character smoking, you take a shot?

Well actually, no that's a bad idea. It might kill somebody, coz I cant recall any scene WITHOUT a cigarette. 😆

Hell, Kareena should sue Madhur for ill health effects for making her smoke so much 😆

No but I knew a few people in college that would down a shot every time they spotted someone smoking on the show Mad Men.😆😆

Seriously though, Heroine was just awful...I can't believe how hyped it was and for what reason. They should know how stupid Mausam, Heroine, Ra.One, JTHJ seems once they see the film completely, right? Or do they just promote it like crazy because they might as well lie in the bed that they made?😆😆

Virgil Idiot's reviews for all these films were awful and for good reason.😆

I'm so excited about Talaash, you know why?
No OTT hype!

And ofcourse, Aamir is Aamir.
And Bebo seems to have kept quite some intrigue behind her role...for once!

I thought you liked Aamir best? 😆

I noticed a very weird thing. In the last few years, all "dream projects" of stars failed--SRK's Ra.One, Shahid's Mausam, PC's Saat Khoon Maaf, Kareena's Heroine, Saif's Agent Vinod...I'm scared of watching any other star's dream projects now. 😆

I see what you mean Dex, but the hyping they did was more related to Yash Chopra...and how he returns with his brand of cinema...the teaser was all about Yash Chopra also. So yes I agree there (that could have probably been avoided), but in all promotions, they were veryyy careful never to say anything about the box office.. I saw every interview they did and they never claimed that the film would rake in money...they wouldn't even say that the film would make 100 crores. That was mostly fans on the forum who kept saying that it will break BO records. ...which of course usually ends up feeling like the makers are claiming that. 😆

People should always let the film speak for itself, but alas...some really don't understand that concept. Never will understand why. "Foot in mouth syndrome" never did help anyone. 😕
