I watched JTHJ a couple of days ago in a packed cinema.

Before I give my review (which will contain spoilers), I want to say I'm a diehard fan of romantic movies and the combination of Yash Chopra and SRK for me is the ultimate movie experience so I might be a little biased.😊

I think even before the movie started, knowing that this was Yashji's last movie, I just wanted to sit and experience the whole cinematic experience without being over critical or cynical about anything, but as soon as SRK entered on his motorbike all such thoughts banished as he brought a big smile to my face.

What can I say about SRK that hasn't been said already. He owns roles like these. No one does the passionate lover like him. As the younger Samar falling in love, he made you smile and laugh and as the more mature Samar, he made you feel his anger, and pain. I loved his chemistry with Katrina and with Anushka.

Katrina looked beautiful. Yes, there were some scenes where she faltered but overall I think this was one of her best acts. Watch her expressions where she is hugging Samar after she meets him after 10 years. So much love and warmth in that hug. And she danced like a dream. The prelude dance before Ishq shava was simply breathtaking. I could watch it over and over.

Anushka lit up the screen! Her character, Akira, was completely opposite to Katrina's who was more subdued. And you felt so bad for her.. I dont think her love for samar was any less than Meera's was. And I do feel Samar loved Akira in his own way. Its just that he could not forget Meera.

I liked the songs before i saw the movie but now I love them. The picturisation of each one was wonderful.

I know a lot of people have found the whole premise of the story weak where Katrina leaves SRK because of a deal she makes with God, but i see nothing wrong in that. I know a few of my friends who have also in effect made a 'deal' with God where they ask Him for something and tell him they will do something for Him in return. Personally, I dont believe that myself, as I feel God gives unconditionally, but then that doesn't make what others do wrong.

My hubby, who normally has very little time for Indian movies and only comes to watch them with me because I love them, also liked the movie. And he is normally the biggest critic of Indian films.

And the ending was poignant with the montage of Yashji with the cast and crew. Even people who were leaving when the movie ended, stopped in their tracks to watch the end credits.
Yash Chopra is going to be missed.

I recommend the movie to all those who love romance and believe in everlasting love.😳

Thanks for the review, Farrah. I do not reply to all reviews because I identify only with those people who feel and live the magic of Yashji's brand of love . The love of soulmates and the kind of love that is true. You, for one, seem to have seen the film with that kind of belief. Thank you for the review.

I guess Samar always knew it inside that Meera was his soulmate , so even when love came knocking again in the form of Akira , his heart still yearned for Meera.

Soulmates . Yashji completely believed in that concept of love and like him, we also believe that soulmates can never be detached from each-other, even if separated. 🤗

Poco🤗

How wonderful to see you again. It has been so long.😳

Im a big believer in soulmates as I have found mine and truly feel that anything is possible in love.

And I feel exactly as you do. Akira was a second chance for Samar to find and love and happiness again, but Meera was his soulmate and he couldnt forget her.

Yet Samar also recognised that Akira's love for him was unconditional too. When he tells her at the end not to become like him and she says 'Too Late' your heart really goes out to her.

And after reading so many cynical reviews and posts its so wonderful to interact with people who think like me.😳

Its good to see you too! 🤗... I am a DHR like you and yes, having seen it happen to people around me ( two of my very very close friends), I can say that I have not only seen soulmates happen, I have seen them endure everything as well just so that they can find their way to each-other. Our generation is cynical about this vintage true love because they cannot find it. But just because we didn't find something , it doesn't mean it does not exist.

Sometimes, you give that one person everything and then, you have nothing left to give and you somehow always belong to that person. Samar went away but wherever he went , he kept Meera alive inside , even if to crib and hate her and his love for her. Akira would have got him if Samar would have released himself from Meera, but he couldn't.

Unrequited love is always a slap on the heart. Akira , maybe somewhere knew that Samar would always be Meera's , i don't know. But loving Samar did open her eyes to what love is beyond temporary boyfriends. Just like Veronica is Cocktail. Love and friendship helped both the girls evolve, i believe.

Our generation's idea of love is very shallow. Most people say I love you without meaning it to their boyfriend/girlfriend.You are attracted towards one another, you date and voila you "LOVE" each other. Many people have an extremely cynical view of this movie. Most of my friends said .."why would anyone wait for some one without knowing if that person will come ?"

If you in your heart know that your love is true and that you will never be able to love some one else, for your entire life you will wait for that person . I love the message of true love in JTHJ i love the innocence and sadness of unrequited love shown in JHJ and that is why i loved it soo soo much . Its painful to love some one who will never love you,i know that but love is selfless it doesnt see who loves you back or who doesnt .The depth of love shown in JTHJ is the reason i love it.I guess the message is that if you truly love a person then you will never let go of them .If you have faith and you believe in your love, then no one can ever separate you from it. If you stop believe in your love, then you will never get it .

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Sunday Business Update. Huge Jump

Jab Tak Hai Jaan on Sunday has registered huge jump at the box office in places like Northern India. In centers like Delhi, Gurgaon occupancy is around 75-80%+. Advance booking for Evening and Night shows are also huge. Bad news is Mumbai and Maharashtra Belt is closed. JTHJ is going to lose at least minimum of 4-5 crore from this belt itself on Sunday itself. Still rest of India performance is excellent.

Business in multiplexes and high-end multiplexes is outstanding. Single screens have also picked up after average Friday and Saturday. Still early days, but around 13-14 crore nett is expected from JTHJ for Sunday, as per early trends. JTHJ already collected around 71 crore nett in first 5 days. Its 6 days extended weekend is heading for around 84-85 crore nett mark. Had Mumbai and Maharastra belt theaters have been opened for Saturday evening and Sunday night shows, extended weekend collection would have been easily around 90 crore nett mark.

Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Jab Tak Hai Jaan took the highest ever opening in Pakistan collecting around $100,000 on Friday and Thursday paid previews.

The film beat records of such films as Don 2 and Bodyguard which were previosuly the highest openers in Pakistan.

This Pakistan market is growing for Hindi films as it was 2008 when Singh is Kinng set a record by collecting over $100,000 in a week and now we have a film collecting almost $100,000 in one day.
