Just came back from the movie ... from the promos i was rooting for sid - he is cute and kind of the underdog ... but varun! ... whoaaa!!!! ... he was so freaking natural ...

and out of all the friends he seemed to have the most genuine character ... which is kid of strange because you think the general story line is always the poor kid with big ambitions with the heart of gold ... but abhi in the movie was kind of a jerk ... whereas they etched out rohan's motivations more clearly

so even though i was team sid before the movie, i think varun stole the show

btw, i want to inhabit the world where poor = this

you know i was so biased towards sid because with star kids you tend to dismiss them or sort of mock them for not actually doing anything and getting everything on a platter ... So i did not like varun one bit before the movie ...i was like Go Sid! ... Go Sid! ... but varun absolutely overshadowed everyone ... he did this role so well - a rejected son yearning for dad's approval, wanting a true friend ... you could actually feel his loneliness...


whereas with abhi they just kept the focus on money ... besides the last scene with dadi he truely did not bond with anyone ... it was always rohan who was the truer friend ... abhi never defended rohan when his dad was bad mouthing him but rohan defended abhi in front of his chachi ... i think they should have written abhi better ...
