I love the Bulla Ki jaaana song! especially because he used Rumi's poetry in it. So so spiritual. I love that song! You know, maybe this song would have made more sense is Shahrukh was walking in the forest, along the fields, by the river. But I dont know, the picturization and the high pitched singing ruined it for me :(

That's because the song has strong Punjabi...Rabbi's Punjabi and his pronunciation is also strong. Either you have to be Punjabi or come from a Northie background to get the words more easily... it'll help if you listen to the song on loop and after 2-3 times the words will become much clearer. I didn't understand much at first but the words made much more sense the second time around to me.

This singer, Rabbi, is quite underrated sadly. He sings Sufi-Punjabi songs...hence the Sufiana touch here too. This is his most famous song probably...and it's divine.

Somy, hi-five! I haven't heard all the SOS songs..but honestly, as fun and catchy as the party sharty Punjabi songs are, they're all too similar for me after a point. I'm glad at least someone in BW showed some different types of Punjabi songs.

I've heard this song SO many times, and I actually like it. I seriously can't believe it's the same guy. 😆

That's exactly what I said in my post! Rahman's songs generally belong to the "they will really grow on you if you listen to them on loop" category. The first time, I also thought it was bad...but it's also b/c the picturization doesn't do it justice. Like you said, Rabbi's voice does not suit SRK & immediately you can tell he's faking it which is a turn-off. Watching the trailer and listening to the song are different experiences..together it doesn't spell magic yet.

The last ARR album that I instantly fell in love with was perhaps Delhi-6 ...but Raavan, Rockstar have all grown on me very slowly slowly..

On the contrary, the ARR songs that I instantly like are the ones that I later grow out of. For example, Chiggy Wiggy from Blue. I loved it when I first heard it but now it's just about okay! So if I don't instantly like an ARR song - it only means it'll grow on me later on.
