yhh fair enough, NYU's crazy hard to get into

it fails to make sense to me though. Why be ready to give hefty donations to big schools to enroll your kid who is not very likely to survive there anyway.
Doesn't it look worse to be a drop-out mid-year, as opposed to being enrolled in a school that may not be as big, but will at least be a feasible place to go to for your kid?

I'm happy!
Yeah, this is definitely a good move for Saif. I'll be selfish, as a fan, I'm super relieved!

Why not? I mean, saif is younger than most of the Khans and Akshay, but for some reason, people assume he's older than he is.
Since he was 37, I've read statements like "45+ man" or even "How old is he, 50?"

And technically, he's not even 45+ NOW. He JUST turned 42 a week ago. Not much of a difference, but the point is, he's one actor everyone always assumes is like older than his actual age. Dont know if its coz he's been coming for so long or coz Kareena's projected to be much younger.
But yeah, these past few days with the reports of Sara coming in films, his onscreen image would just get more and more affected.
Sara might be 16 or 18, but either way, that doesnt change the fact that Saif is still younger than most of the contemporaries of his generation who still enjoy the reputation of being "evergreen" and young.

So woohoo, atta boy Saif. Keep Sara away from the limelight and enjoy the next couple of years. 😳

Well, you'd never know who will survive who will not... If I'm not wrong Benazir Bhutto's son had completed his studies from Chirst Church College... Oxford. & His case was quite similar with Sara's. Here is an excerpt from BBC News --

In joining Oxford's Christ Church college, he also followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Pakistan's first elected prime minister and founder of the PPP, who was executed under martial law in 1979.

I dont think its a question of surviving or graduating for them unlike mere mortals like us. They can just enroll in a part time or short term course and get a completion certificate and claim they are Oxford grads. Like a few years back Preity did the same and her PR claimed she is doing a business degree from Harvard. Recently even Ekta Kapoor did the same.
If I am not wrong even Kareena did the same where she completed a 3 month course in Harvard and calls herself a Harvard grad.

@mogli and @ksh
You both have a point...

I guess I'm just bitter. Recently went through the whole application process... I will be bitter about the fact that Sara doesn't have to bother worrying about getting rejected from any school.

oh, trust me I know the feeling. Getting an admission spot is hard and getting enrollment in the department is even harder. just took me an year to get into an energy program. ugh.

but tbh, who CARES about their Harvard/fancy degrees.

I mean, I bet no one even bothers looking up the celeb's history and realizing that its like a 3-month course...

who are they trying to impress? Directors? Definitely not teh audience because I've never till date met anyone who loves a celebrity because of their degree

Most schools/universities have such 'extra' spots for wealthy folks. They give a huge donation and in return their kids get admission. If they can manage to scrape through they get a degree too. Almost every wealthy family in India sends their children to Harvard, Wharton, Oxford and other reputed universities. I cant imagine all these families have geniuses born among them. I guess its a price the universities pay to sustain themselves. I personally find what's done ethically wrong.
