Ek Tha Tiger... thanks but no thanks

After the roaring success of Gabbar Singh, producers have realised that they will need something special to get immediate dates from Pawan Kalyan. And what could be better than the remake of Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger?

They felt that the story of a fiery RAW agent who falls in love with an enemy agent and their thrilling escapades would be the best bet for Pawan and had even roped in director Harris Shankar who tweaked the original script of Dabangg to deliver a record-breaking hit.

But this was before "mixed" response of Ek Tha Tiger started coming in. The director also reportedly raised doubts about its limitations in Telugu after watching it on the first day itself. "Unlike Dabangg, which had a lot of energy and a strong love story, Ek Tha Tiger was slow-placed and scored high on action and less on content and it's nothing but a rehash of Mr and Mrs Smith, and he declined to re-do it," says a source in the production house.

Apparently, the director informed a producer that he would prefer to remake Dabangg 2 as Gabbar Singh 2 instead of Ek Tha Tiger since he heard from actor Prakash Raj, who is playing the baddy in Dabangg 2, that the popular sequel, which is slated for a December release, has enough potential for a commercial potboiler.

Leading producer Ganesh, who made Gabbar Singh, also declined to shell out a huge sum to remake Ek Tha Tiger. He says, "I wasn't in the race to buy the rights of Ek Tha… as I learnt that the story was not suitable for Telugu viewers. Of course, I would love to work with superstar Pawan Kalyan again, and if he shows interest in doing a sequel, I wouldn't mind spending a bomb to procure the rights even if there was big competition. However, it's too early to talk about it as we have to first see how the sequel (Dabangg 2) would be received by the audience."

Kat plumps up pucker

They say rare indeed is the woman who is truly satisfied with the way she looks. When she stands in front of a mirror, even the loveliest of the species is apt to think that her nose too large or her forehead too small or her cheekbones not prominent enough — a truth on which an entire beauty industry thrives and does business.
But one would have thought that with her porcelain skin and flawless baby doll looks, Katrina Kaif would be immune to those sort of issues. Perhaps we were wrong.
Kat's Ek Tha Tiger has drawn attention for many things — its box office records, the unrivalled star status of its leading man Salman, and also for the remarkably enhanced appearance of Ms Kaif's lips. The actress' pout has a decided lift, industry sources have noted.
"It was initially spotted in the film's posters, but was thought of as a digital alteration," comments one observer. "But Katrina's pronounced pout was in evidence throughout the film."
Clearly Kat seems to have miraculously plumped up her pucker. But how she managed that, we'll leave her to tell us!

Salman Khan makes the gamcha a must-have fashion item

What started off as a mere utilitarian object, used for obvious purposes, the gamcha has now become one of the most iconic accessories in Bollywood. While Govinda frolicked on the screen with a gamcha casually thrown around his neck in several of his films, Amitabh Bachchan exuded some serious rustic charm through his own set in Bunty Aur Babli. And now Salman Khan has sparked off a major trend among amchi Mumbaikars, who have been spotted wearing similar versions of the houndstooth patterned gamcha he sports in Ek Tha Tiger.
