A big question is facing the Hindi film industry, and that is who after Shah Rukh Khan? This is natural as Shah Rukh will turn 40 soon. Besides, the king of Bollywood is looking for a hit after 'Veer Zaara' following his movies like 'Swades' directed by no less than Ashutosh Gowarikar of 'Lagaan' and 'Paheli' directed by another famous director Amol Palekar didn't fare as well as expected.

Shah Rukh is known for his versatility, and that's why the industry is feeling the pinch as it hasn't got many to succeed him. There is already a shortage of versatile actors. In case we think of a Khan to succeed SRK, then the names of Fardeen, Saif and Zayed come to our mind. Let's discuss them one by one. Fardeen Khan proved his mettle in 'Dev' and Zayed Khan in SRK starrer 'Main Hoon Na'. But they seem to be far, far away from filling the vacuum created by SRK's absence, if and whenever it comes.

Yes, Saif Ali Khan has gotten a recognition in the industry for his performance in 'Dil Chahta Hai' and then as a versatile and brilliant actor in 'Parineeta'. Besides, he has received the National Award for The Best Actor this year. Saif's acting in 'Parineeta' has been compared with that of Shah Rukh Khan in 'Devdas'. And, Saif's recently released 'Salaam Namastay' has been stated to be faring well at box office. So, he stands in the race though Saif isn't as popular as SRK is.

If we look outside the Khans, we find Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham. Yes, Shaahid Kapoor is also waiting in the wing Will any of them fill the vacuum? Undoubtedly, they are the emerging heroes. While Abhishek has shown his excellent performance beginning from 'Refugee' to 'Yuva' to 'Run' and recently in his 'Dhoom'. Besides, he has impressed the viewers by his talent in 'Bunty Aur Babli' and 'Sarkar' in the company of his father Big B. Apart from this, he has on hand 'Dhoom-2', 'Bluff Master' and 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna'.

Next comes Hrithik Roshan who got an amazing success in his father Rakesh's two movies -- 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' and 'Koi Mil Gaya' His dance performance in 'Lakshya' was excellent though the movie didn't fare well at the ticket window. Now, he is busy in the sequel of 'Koi Mil Gaya' and Abhishek starrer 'Dhoom-2' and Ashutosh' historical 'Jodha Akbar'. The third candidate is model-turned-actor John Abraham. He isn't far behind. Beginning with a lot of admiration from his 'Viroodh', he rose to fame in 'Jism' . He is busy now in Rituparno Ghosh' 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam', Priyadarshan's 'Garam Masala' and 'Babul' of Ravi Chopra. And last of all but not the least is the boyfriend of a highly paid actress Kareena Kapoor. He is Shaahid Kapoor who stormed the industry by his performance in 'Ishq Vishq'. He is anxiously awaiting to be seen in Sooraj Barjatya's forthcoming movie.

no yaar srk is like Big B no one can replace him no matter how old he gets people will still love him and theink he is the best

everyone has their own places in the industry.
Be it Shah rukh or any other star.

Like the stars of the past...Soon...he will be fogotten...You cant expect him to be an Amitabh Bachchan.... 😳 Coz The Big B can never be forgotten..he is a living legend.But Shah Rukh hasnot given a variety or something new..a new phase for the industry like the Big B has given such variety to the industry.(sry...i always just go p dere in cloud nine when it cums to praising my idol...but i am right na?)
AB is a real superstar.👏

But the performance of Shah Rukh last year at the BO shows that his era is having tough time.

The fiolm industry cant be a one man industry...yaar...it was during the 70s and 80s of Mr.Bachchan...But Shah rukh cant reach to that height of Big B(i dun mean just phhysical)😉

I wont say age is a factor...coz if u take the Big B's example in itself...he is 64...but is the most powerfu man in the industry even today...
But talent does matter , obviously.

Paheli was an utter flop! 😆 coz the story was so 🤢
And i dont find the picturisation special. And acting too wasnt much commentable.

I wont say anyone can replace him and stuff.
Coz he is himself...they all have individuality.But as time goes on...we get to see new talents..thats all. aND shah rukh doesnt have anything special in him which will make him an eternal and never forgettable Actor like my legendry IDOL!😳

SRK IS REPLACEABLE HE NEVER WAS IN THE BIG LEAGUE LIKE BIG B. NEVER LIKED HIM FORM 'CHAHAT'. TOO INTENSE AND SAME OLD HICH-KICHANA AND JUST LIKE RAJESH KHANNA HE GOT OLD AFTER THE FIRST HICH-KICH. ALSO HE SEEMED TO HAVE TOOMANY BLOODY SCENES THAT WERE NOT NECESSARY. ALWAYS THOUGHT HE OVER ACTED. THERE WERE A FEW HITS BUT THEY WERE DUE TO STORY LINES NOT HIS ACTING. NEXT AFTER BIG B I THINK ABHI IS RIGHT IN LINE. WHAT A COOL HUNK AND GREAT ACTOR. 👏 😊 😛

shahrukh can never be replaced by anyone.he got the charm&persona which others dont have..being a true shahrukhfan i can never think of any actor other than shahrukh who can make me laugh&cry..
all the actors wants to be shahrukh but no one can reach the heights where shahrukh.he is simply the best

I don't think so.. It be bad to compared him to be BIG B, because he is more popular and bigger than BIG B(no offense to his fans). He cannot be replaceable. Without SRK, Bollywood doesn't exsist.😃

there is no point in comparing him to Big B... 1 shouldnt look at variety n say he didnt do diff. kinda roles n stuff i think he can easily carry off any role... did anyone see him in Veer Zaara. he played an old man's character really well 👏
n ur right as well that Bollywood doesnt even exist without SRK...
if ppl say that he can never replace Big B then 1 more thing that Big B can never replace Dilip Kumar so its not abt someone replacing SRK from the past we r talking abt todays generation like Zayed, HR etc
