Bipasha is not as safe as she was 10 years ago: Mahesh Bhatt

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's forthcoming venture 'Raaz 3' which contains a slice from Bipasha Basu's life, says, the model-turned actress is not having a good run in the industry primarily due to the competition from the younger lot in the tinsel town.

A lot of films like 'The Dirty Picture' or the upcoming release 'Heroine' revolves around the meteoric rise and downfall of a superstar or a supermodel. Vikram Bhatt's directorial venture, 'Raaz 3' also appears to be similar, as it focuses on two actresses - Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta -- with Emraan Hashmi playing the role of a director.

"The need for Bollywood stories is enormous, people are enchanted with it. There is a reality of the industry that we know. We have given the film a horror idiom by including black magic. The story is very much true," Bhatt said in an interview.

"It also coincides with Bipasha Basu's life where she is feeling the breath of extinction as the younger girls have come in who may elbow her out. Today Bipasaha is not as safe as she was 10 years ago when she came into the industry," he said.

Releasing September 7, 'Raaz 3' talks about the turbulent times of an actress, played by Bipasha and how she begins to turn to black magic to destroy a budding star (Esha) and get back the man (Emraan) she loves. The tag line of 'Raaz 3' states 'When desire becomes evil' which Bhatt films holds true in the film industry.

bipasha is on a decline no doubt but i like that she herself accepts it and is not in an illusion like most actresses who are on a decline. Anyway she doesnot have anything interesting post raaz 3,aatma is there but it does not look good or the name is too lame to do anything for it!
whatsoever, the bhatts shouldnt talk too openly about it, At the time of raaz so she was doing great, fresh from the success of dhoom2-race-bachna ae hasino, she had big co-stars surrounding her like saif, ranbir etc and numero uno actresses like katrina, kareena etc used to work or be her rivals, now they are in a different league altogether!

The thing is when an actress(from a non-filmy background) is on a decline everyone feels free to say anything about her. For instance the digs at PC and Bips. But the same people wouldnt dare to say the same thing to actresses who have the backing of their powerful families or in-laws even if they are already extinct.

I don't think you are right. Wasn't there such news about Ashwarya too when she got married and now when she had her baby? Even Kareena is not spared now. They even wrote lots of articles about Rani too when her career was in decline.
So this is nothing new.
