TDP was bolder...more in ur face...i mean, the title itself said "The dirty picture" u cant get more frank than that...😆

TDP wasnt wht id call "a great film"..or even a good one for that matter...it was a film tht solely relied on vidya's guts and her performance and she pulled it off spectacularly...

Heroine coming from the same director as Fashion has few hopes in terms of "good content"...if the film works, it would be a true testimony to kareena's standing in the industry and her popularity with the audience...

I dont really like both Milan and Madhur as directors because they never bring anything new to the table...OUATIM was as cliched a take on gangster movies as it could be and TDP wasnt a gr8 film either.. and Madhur recycles the same story with a different setting and claims himself to be a "national award winning realistic director"...

i agree with wht SB said...my biggest concern regarding kareena in heroine is tht she gave the performance keeping the national award in mind...if she did, then im shit scared for her coz she never performs well when shes on such agendas...if she didnt and just focused on getting her role right, then chances are that she aced it...lets see...

TDP was more intriguing and interesting and Vidya was the major part of it, but Heroine isn't as interesting until the last 5 seconds of it, even though Kareena is shown for all of it. It's b/c the dialogues are so horrible. I'm sure the film had way better lines than that. And honestly, I wish instead of using Halkat Jawani as the BG score, MB should have went with something more darker in tone. B/c either like very funny/cheap things in trailers or dark/twisty things and this trailer had neither.

Honestly, the critics will comare the 2 films b/c not that many women-centric films are had in a year so Kareena vs Vidya will happen and mark my words someone, somewhere is gonna write who the bette performer is. Second, the films have the SAME, EXACT concept--a girl comes from no where, super successful, and then decline. Again, there will be some differences, but Vidya has her 3 guys and Kareena has her 2 guys. It's all so similar, but only Kareena's portrayal of Mahi will differentiate the film from any TDP comparisons and bring in some "originality".

Agree with the hypocrisy part. But can we not call characters/actresses wh**es b/c they sleep like 2-3 guys?! It's not like it's money for sex...it's a mutual attraction thing. And women are finally able to take power of their bodies and sexuality in films. Women are finally pushing the envelops with sex in cinema--I mean they did before too, but now it's more acceptable and here we have people throwing around words like wh**es and s**ts.

Sorry for the rant.

But Heroine has that catchy bit that made me go wow. Love Kareena in that last five seconds. Like replayed the whole trailer 27 times.

check ur statement Nicko, u are saying ur not criticising vidya yet u r saying tht she was desperate to like a wh**e...similarly u can't see that with kareena...

so its ur intention to rage a war...till now nobody has commented like this and we have been discussing peacefully. JESUS ! we are often criticized that we bring on the fight but people can see themselves who actually is looking for it.

its fine that Vidya and TDP didn't appeal to u, but if u call Vidya a wh**e u need to accept that kareena also, becoz they both are playing actresses and not wh**es.
