Akshay pans the Khans

Khiladi Kumar Akshay is having the time of his life. His latest big ticket comic flick 'Phir Hera Pheri' has taken the country by storm. After garnering Rs 27 crore in its first week, this Neeraj Vohra laugh riot is going strong in the second week as well. It is primarily because of PHP that the collections of 'Fanaa' have dropped considerably though it's still very strong in the interiors of North India. Akshay is not mincing words as he is ready to take on the Khans.

He says that he is glad that Yash Chopras and Karan Johars of the world don't sign him on as maybe he wouldn't have become as big if he would have worked with them. Irked at getting the best actor in a comic role for 'Garam Masala', Raju says that if his lead role in branded as that of a comedian, then Aamir Khan should be getting the best award for an actor in a historical role for 'Mangal Pandey' and 'Lagaan'. Denying any rift between him and Salman, the actor is of the opinion that both of them share a great chemistry and 'Jaaneman' will bear a testimony to that. In fact 'Jaaneman' has been sold at an unprecedented Rs 7.4 Crore for the Mumbai circuit. That is an unheard of amount for a Hindi film as 'Rang De Basanti' fetched Rs 3.5 crore this year and was considered the highest.

Akshay Kumar has surely entered the big league. He charges a remuneration ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 7 crore which is the same as heartthrob Hrithik Roshan. His star studded US and UK shows 'Heat' generated more sweat than Salman's 'Rockstars'. The family man in him rushed to Mumbai after winding up his act at IIFA Awards in Dubai as he wanted to be with son Aarav on the Fathers Day. Wife Tiwnkle has been a great influence on him and if he is to be believed then she doesn't have any problem with him working with one-time-flame Priyanka Chopra with whom he shares a 100% hit ratio. All four films that they've done together are successful. As for the tussle with Suniel Shetty then he says in a veiled manner that people who badmouth him go on to doing five film with him soon after. It's clear who is calling the shots and on whose basis a film is getting sold these days.
