I dont think people just like an actress bcoz of the nostalgia factor. There were a lot of actresses in bollywood but not everyone remember them for their acting skills. For instance Parveen Babi or Zeenat Aman were popular mainly for their sex appeal than their acting skills. they are honoured at award ceremonies for whatever they have contributed to hindhi cinema.

And i dont think ppl unnecessarily bash the current lot of actresses unless they are really good..Vidya Balan is always being praised by critics and audiences as well. Even Kajol in the 90s was always praised for her powerful acting. The only thing she was criticised for was her make up and appearance.

I dont think anyone can be or should try to be Sri Devi. It is only when you try to do something different and unique tht ppl rem. you. that is why Kajol is remembered today because rather than copying Sri or Madhuri she followed her own route. Ditto for Vidya as well. It is important not to be clones of each other which is right now happening in Bollywood!!
