Most of India do not speak in English, they may know a few english words, but that isn't tantamount to speaking the language.

Fact is, she's been living there for 10 years, and it doesn't take that long to learn the language.

Moreover,she works in hindi films and if she doesn't get the diction right,the dialogue delivery sucks.So even if you are lucky enough to see some expressions on her face,once she opens her mouth,she just hams.Rajneeti for example,the last speech she gives with the pathetic hindi.🤢If she doesn;t learn the language,how can she even act in films which require her to speak in Hindi?There are many actors who are from Delhi or Bombay but work in South Indian film industry.They have become fluent in the southern language like Kannada or Tamil because they know they will not be able to act without knowing it.

I know that Katrina is hardworking...

but whenever I think of her, I can't help feel bad for all the girls in India who clamour their asses to Mumbai in the hopes for finding jobs...

we all make fun of Rakhi Sawant, but when she entered Mumbai, she wasn't the nutcase we see today... so many women like her come to the city alone, WITHOUT a celebrity sex-buddy, they take Hindi classes, they starve themselves, what not..

and one thing or the other doesn't work for them. Katrina did almost the same thing (minus the damn language learning), and she clicked.. probably and sadly because she's white.

Don't accuse me of being racist or any bull like that 😆 all that this was was addressing the elephant in the room.

BW is a Hindi language industry...u wanna survive here ...u HAVE to learn Hindi...and anyone who wants to learn a language...really ...just needs one year...If I am going to watch ur movie and am spending money on it ...I need quality...and if u cannot deliver it then just GO BACK from where u came...

When Jean Dujardin won Academy for Best Actor, he spoke in ENGLISH. he didnt know much of it, it was all screwed up, but he spoke it, out of respect for the institution and people.

It was such a priceless moment. I liked that about his speech and he came off as very humble b/c he tried speaking in broken English warna everyone would have thought he was an arrogant French actor. Did you see the Golden Globes when other French people tried taking in English...some of the HW actors made such awkward faces..so cruel.

On-topic: She's not dumb. It's all a facade b/c playing dumb makes her seem cute in the eyes of the majority and hence people are more sympathetic towards her. Plus, I have never heard her bitch about others--she's diplomatic which mean she's smart b/c she doesn't start fights or shed any negative light on herself. She has a very clean image and granted she has her funny moments, but who doesn't.

As for not speaking Hindi part..I agree with whoever said she has no respect for the arts. She doesn't wanna be an ACTress, but a STAR. There's clearly a difference between the two things. What she is doing works, but age catches up with STARS and with time, she will be forgotten, unless she decides to pull a Vdya...only then can she be a LEGEND. But honestly, I see no correlation between IQ and her not being able to speak English. I mean it's her choice which language she speaks outside of her acting role. I only cringe when she's told to speak in Hindi (like BB) and repeatedly doesn't...that was just bogus.

i like Katrina but to this i agree. You should learn. she is just lucky that she has big wigs backing her up. she got lucky the day she met Salman. I dont care that people say shes a hard worker etc. She would have never ever made it without him. there are other Pretty NRI's that have tried there luck, but not reached this kinda stardom. She played her cards right, learned the ropes through Salman and what the indian audiences want. He too as joked about her diction, etc.

Others will point out he has helped other actresses, but where are they?.

Answer: Katrina as been in a long term relationship with him, she knows she can turn to him when needed. This is probably why she doesnt care to learn or things its necessary to speak hindi at public events, but i think outta respect she should

Anyhow, i do like them as a couple and wish ETT all the best.
