When will these people grow up?

AM sure Vidya herself knows that she has not created any earth-shattering impact in Bollywood, what can be safely said that she is trying to do her best out of the roles offered to her. All actresses should try and opt to do meaningful roles, even a small change is worth it, rather than do worthless stuff.

With Lolo's return memories of the time Kareena made her debut comes back. These Kapoor sisters used try and bully their way around all the actresses whom they perceived as threats.

i agree with her...nothing in BW has changed...nt on a permanent basis...its stil a very male orientated industry...always has been bt ppl c it mre nw becos bk in the days atleast there wer actresses like meena kumari, sridevi, madhuri etc, bt nowadays actresses arent tht gr8 so dnt blame producers 4 nt having much faith in them...theres onli a few actresses tht r gd, i.e. vidya...the rest arent tht gr8 in terms of acting

Anytime a woman is in a movie the whole thing revolves around how she looks, unless she's a mother and then it revolves around showing how much she's willing to go through for her child.

At least there might be some dramatic scope in the second category but the first requires nothing which is why any no-talent half or full white girl can do the roles.

Either you're a sex pot or a perky village belle until you become a mother and then you're about your kids.

Even the huge, big ticket films are all about the actor and the actress is just there to look "hot" There's no attempt to flesh out these side characters at all.

If there were decent writers the films wouldn't have to be "woman-centric" they could just be films like The Thin Man movies of the 1930s where Myrna Loy stood out though not the main character.

Look at Kahaani, a movie with a female protagonist, but the men were well written too. They all had decent characterizations and because of that Bob Biswas was a breakout role.

Really it's about writing and creativity more than anything.

yes, heroines can think about concentrating on performance based roles, but there have been women centric movies in the past too... sridevi used to get paid a lot more than the leading actors of her times!

can vidya boast of the same or consider this in the near future?

so really, a kahani here or a tdp there doesn't change much in the overall scheme... it could be a start of a trend, but itne vadde vadde claims just with two movies, seems far stretched!

In essence, she is right. Vidya hasn't really changed anything as such, but she has definitely made a move towards change.
