Shraddha Arya |
She was one of the finalists in Zee's Cinestars Ki Khoj. However, after the contest ended, Shraddha Arya kept a low profile, while her friends signed television shows and films. "I didn't want a big role in a small film, I was waiting for a small role in a big film.
That's what I have, in RGV's Nishabd."
A director who did a sequence with her for Cinestars, spotted Arya.
"He went to Ramu sir and told him about me. I could not have asked for more — a film with none other than Amitabh Bachchan, and that too under the RGV banner!"
Idol worship
How was it to work with the Big B? "Being in the same frame as him is a privilege. My character's name is Ritu, and I play his daughter.
Mr Bachchan was very down to earth and made me comfortable. He asked about my background — where I stay and what school and college I went to. I am also working with Revathy, who's another of my idols."
Shot mostly in Kerala, the film was wrapped up in 20 days. "The whole
experience was like going for an acting workshop. We just finished the schedule a few days back. I will be going for the dubbing now," says Shraddha.
'I am single'
Arya denies reports that she is dating Kasamh Se actor, Naman Shaw. "I don't know who started these rumours, but the fact is, I am single. Naman is a good friend, just like the other guys of India's Best. We all try and catch up whenever we can."
What kind of roles does she want to do now? "I don't mind doing television or films, as long as the role is interesting," says the actress.
