" however there are others who are happy and say that a film showing Pakistanis as terrorists should be banned. "

Okay now, I'm not a Pakistani but if I were I'd be offended by this right here, on one hand he stated the movie is not anti Pakistan, yet he says

This is a realistic kind of a thriller. We have shown that there are some negative elements in Pakistan towards India and their Censor have a problem showing that. "We have shown a few most-wanted criminals, those that are harboured in Pakistan, which is a known fact. May be they have taken offence to that.

I don't know but this right here would offend me, IF I' were Pakistani, he's basically implying negative stuff and/or propagating it thru his movie, no wonder the censor boards took offense. Is this a joke or what? 😲

I'm Pakistani and I wouldnt take offense.
We made a film called Khuda Ke LIye, that also showed terrorism in Pakistan. And it showed both sides quite beautifully.
If our viewers can watch that film, they can watch this film as well.
And who in their right minds thinks all Pakistanis are terrorists?
But can you ignore the fact that there are terrorists in our country who are killing it?
Like I said, Saif has family in Pakistan. He got in trouble back during the Mumbai attacks happened on the forum coz he said that we should cut Pakistan some slack and stop automatically blaming them for everything.
He's a very well balanced guy, who sees the good and bad in everything. He's not some super patriot who thinks his country is the best, nor does he bash others, but he is exceptionally well read and intelligent and can see reality.
Our Pakistani censors have always been too sensitive. They didnt even let Ali Zafar's Tere Bin Laden release!

If u say so.

I can totally understand why some people don't feel comfortable with a film that's showing their own as
a bunch of terrorist supporting crazy lunatics. Now you may not feel offended but I'm sure many of ur landsmen are, and quiet frankly they have every right to be. (Not just regarding AV, but numerous other films who propagate the same)
As for Saif's family, having a bunch of relatives on the other side of the border doesn't count much imo. Who is this ''uncle'' anyway? Is it Mansoor' Ali's brother? (If it's his father's brother, why would he leave Bhopal for Pakistan? Aren't they supposed to be ''nawabs?'') Is it Mansoor's Brother in law? Or just Mansoor Ali Khan's cousin? Cuz it sure as heck, can't be anyone from Sharmila's relatives.

Wasn't Tere Bin Laden, a comedy? I haven't watched that movie, just the trailers, I still wannna watch it tho, cuz Salman liked it.

Mansur's first cousin, and all these guys are in touch, since Saif recalls talking about how he visited his family in Pakistan as well one time, and even Kareean mentions how they call and ask them to visit soon.
I dont think Agent Vinod shows any anti Pakistani angle. The heroine of the film is Pakistani, shown to have connections iwth the ISI and is clearly working WITH the hero, so then, I dont see how Pakistan is shown as the villain. Or a bunch of terrorists supporting lunatics.
Saif said its a global film that involves Morocco, Afghanistan, India, etc.
But Siaf is clearly playing off a fact, a reality, that Bin Laden was found near Islamabad, and I dont think even us Pakistanis can ignore that fact. Its not propagating anything.
Saif clearly said, there is a GOOD Pakistan and a BAD Pakistan fighting each other. There's a good and bad in every country.

yeah the fact that Bin Laden was cozying up in Pakistan is mind boggling, although not totally shocking, as he was expected to be in Afghanistan/Pakistan.

It would be nice for them to go and visit Saif's family there, I haven't heard of many Indian celebs going there, apart from Feroze Khan being there in the mid 00s, and we all know what kind of controversy his statements created back then.
Visiting Pakistan would be a great opportunity for Kareena too, seeing as her ancestors fled from there (then the northern part of British India) couple of decades ago.

So that's what Saif is saying, that its quite a fact that some terrorists are harboured in Pakistan.
This si clearly, and please keep in mind I'm Pakistani, a matter of INdia making this film.
If a Pakistani maker had shown that, no one would ahve cared.
I think people are more sensitive BECAUSE of this Indo-Pak relationahip. Pak & INdia are like siblings, literally.
Envy, jealosy, insecurity, fights, but then in teh end, cant really live without one another.
I mean honestly, the only reaosn half hte people in Pak & india are into cricket is coz of Pak vs India matches 😆

Pakistan may have made movies abt terrorism, but a rival country making one regarding the issue... People will be touchy abt it. If it was the other way around, even India too would have reacted the same way.
i am not surprised with the ban. It is a sensitive issue and the censors too are answerable to the public... Taking that into consideration they may have decided on the ban...

Cricket is the dumbest game ever IMO. Whenever I'm in Mumbai I make fun of my cousin (he's too much into it), and India's never ending love with cricket. I wouldn't call India and Pakistan siblings, more like step siblings, the animosity/hatred in some parts are too strong to be put aside. Indians and Pakistani's outside their countries get along better, than those living in the two countries, sad but true.
