For me its Madhuri, Juhi, Karishma... but they have had their commercial successes...its time for them to move on to offbeat movies/endorsements even TV shows to add a little star power...looked what AB did with KBC... Rani, sushmita lots of talent but have not seen them much recently
Ash I dont miss her ...since she has not gone...everyday we hear about her...and its been too much about her...I would like for her to take a break and not have anything from her for about 6 months...pretty pleeease.

Re: Vidya, I absolutely agree. She is definitely one of the better actresses of this generation, but to hail her as a living legend would be so inappropriate IMO. Along with being lucky, I would call her wise too. She experimented, had some failures, learned from her mistakes, understood her forte, and went ahead.

Regarding Vidya...I agree too. Her work gets noticed more because she simply has no competition. Though I cant call her mediocre.

Coming to Manisha...she was really volatile. She had this huge drinking problem and her situation really deteriorated and stopped getting work completely. Which makes me wonder...why did Rani stop getting work around 2007/2008?

That bit about Rani makes sense. With Preity I understand...she got diverted towards IPL. But Rani wasnt doing anything else. She said in a recent interview that she lost her confidence post the flops. That made me wonder...afterall she is Adi Chopra's girlfriend. If nothing else she could have easily bagged some multi-starrer with YRF/Dharma. But she didnt...so could it be that even personally she had a low along with a career low in the sense that Adi Chopra refused to support her.

Rani did get work post 2006 - Bhool Bhulaiyaa, The Namesake, some SLB film rumored to be titled Charulata among others. She stuck to her comfort zone of YRF, playing the same tear-shedding roles, and YRF also had the downfall post 2007, so audiences got bored of her, and then she stopped being noticed. She tried competing with the younger lot with her bubbly image but that bombed big time. But yea, even YRF/KJo didn't give her the best roles when she needed them badly, so it shows just how friendly the industry is. Well, profit is their motive so it's understandable.

@ topic: I miss Manisha's raw portrayal of broken characters...and Rani's charm during her prime sometimes. But other than that, none really. I watch their earlier movies if I need.

I do quite miss Priety.
I miss her in those overtly bubbly characters, I don't care if it used to get annoying sometimes.

She really brought in flavour into whatever character she tried to portray... her loud simplicity was so fresh.
