Puri Jagannath sacks Abhishek Bachchan from The Businessman

Puri Jagannath, who was once praising the Bachchans to heavens, seems to be not in good terms with them. The ace director, who had announced his plans to cast Abhishek Bachchan in the Hindi version of his Telugu movie The Businessman, has sacked the Junior B and replaced him with Mahesh Babu for the Hindi version too.

The filmmaker says that he considered Abhishek Bachchan's recent past track record and felt that casting him in The Businessman would not be a good idea, claims Puri Jagannath. The Bollywood star has lost the charm in him, which made the director to drop him.

Hence, he decided to rope in Mahesh Babu for the Hindi version of The Businessman. Puri Jagannath believes that the Pokiri actor can do complete justice in the Bollywood version despite not being fluent in Hindi.

However, it is said that Puri Jagannath's decision to drop Abhishek Bachchan is not surprising, as he faced troubles related to the payment from the AB Corp. in the Bollywood movie Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap.

Puri to suffer Jr Bachchan again

Puri Jagannath is a much-discussed man in Bollywood these days ever since he directed Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap with Amitabh Bachchan.

This film has brought him national recognition.

And now there is talk about him making another film with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead. According to the Mumbai grapevine, all is not well between Puri and the Bachchans. Firstly, the Bachchans are upset that Delhi Belly completely overshadowed Bbuddha..., making it an average success.

Also, Puri was annoyed with an "interfering, overbearing Junior B" throughout the film's making. Apparently, Abhishek would butt in during the film's making with his suggestions and the Bachchans even came up with the brainwave to include a Kajra re like act in Bbuddah... where Abhishek roped in Shaad Ali of Bunty and Babli fame to direct it.

But by the end of it, strangely, Puri decided to drop the song despite the fact that the picturisation costed over Rs 1 crore.

Actor Raveena Tandon too admits she was disappointed that her item number was deleted from the film. Though Puri promises to include it in the DVD version.

While Bollywood sources giggle at Bachchan's behaviour, Puri's camp keeps mum. Making it worse, Puri is hounded by eager-beavers, "Is a sequel with Abhishek Bachchan on the way?"

For the record, all that the director says, is, "Right now I am busy with the script for my Telugu film Businessman starring Mahesh Babu and Kajal Anand. If this film does well in Telugu, then I'll remake it in Hindi with Abhishek."

When B'town gets the director more fame suffering Jr B for another film, after 10 months, is a small price to pay.

Now we should get ready for another barrage from Big B.
