Yup, Devdutt Pattanaik. They don't specify exactly which of his books they are using though.

I actually thought you might be talking about the Shiva Trilogy because I know some people mistakenly thought this show was based on those books. I think the promos with the shot of Lord Shiva from the back may have contributed to that as well (it's exactly like the cover image of The Immortals of Meluha).

You know, it would be interesting if a show or, even better, a movie were made out of the Shiva Trilogy.

My mum watches this show,wasn't the lead actress a part of this serial where she played a victim of split personality disorder?I think she was mindblowing in the show..so I want to know whether its the same girl or not.Dunno what's her name.

Yes Sriti Jha.

In Jyoti she played the role of person with Dissociative identity disorder/Split personality.

In Rakt Sambandh she played the role of a wife of a psychotic eunuch.
