Akshay Kumar wants to do a variety of rol

In a recent radio interview to the UK from Canada, Akshay Kumar thanked the audience for making HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE a big hit in the UK. "I would like to thank my audience for supporting the film and enjoying it. I was expecting HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE to do well and I'm glad it has. I knew people would love the songs and the emotions in the film. It's a very real-life story that everyone can relate to."

Distributed internationally by U T V, the film has grossed GBP 300,000 already in its first eight days in the UK, and has also been in the news for its soundtrack being at the top spot in the UK for nearly six weeks now. "My favourite song is the title track - the Himesh Reshammiya version. It's lovely," he added during the interview. Incidentally, Akshay is planning on singing a Punjabi track on stage during his stage shows in London and Birmingham at the end of the month.

In terms of his forthcoming plans, he said, "Earlier, I was taking risks while doing stunts. Now I would like to take risks by doing a variety of roles. I don't want to get typecast. I've signed two or three interesting."
