NO. You didn't not get me. I said Aamir is not as popular as SRK, Salman. But you made it sound like I said he's unpopular! 😆 And clearly, consistent BO record doesn't define popularity because PC hasn't had a hit for years now, yet she is more popular than Vidya who's delivered 4 hits on the trot!

And LMAO, I didn't compare Aamir to Vidya. I made two seperate statements. Vidya was an example that quoted to your point that BO performance is directly proportional to a star's popularity. But yet Vidya's movie has got great returns to her latest film that none of the big budget films have succeeded in, off late.

Yes...BO performance is a proof of a star's popularity. Consistent BO performers like Vidya and Emraan are popular to a large extent. Yet their movies so far have had a much smaller budget where its easier to recover costs. AK's movies are usually big budget ones where stakes are higher for everyone involved. If a small movie flops not much attention is paid to it. If a big movie flop an actor has to bear the cross of it for years. Like even today Raj Kapoor's Mera Naam Joker is pointed out as a huge flop.

Similarly its easier to declare a smaller budget movie like TDP a superhit compared to a big budget Ra1 eventhough Ra1 has made more money simply because percentage of profits for the producers of TDP was more than Ra1. But the reason why more money is invested in a Khan move compared to a Balan movie whether the Khan movie is a hit or superhit because the producers are more sure he will recover his costs from a 100 cr Khan movie rather than a 100 Cr Balan movie. Why? Because he is popular. The audience has confidence that he will be entertained when he is watching the movie.

People like Aamir for his movies and nothing else.. whereas SRK and Salman have this huge following which is beyond movies. And Aamir is not as popular as them in that sense.

I agree...though in terms of buzz for a movie AK is as good as the other two.
