According to sources, new mommy Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will make her Bollywood comeback only after a year

The reports that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is returning to cinema with a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has everyone around the two concerned families baffled. The buzz is that Ash will return to films at least after a year.

The rumour was that SLB plans to cast his 'Paro' from Dedvdas as Mastani and that too with Shah Rukh Khan playing Bajirao.

Says a source, "SLB and Shah Rukh have spoken about a role. But it is certainly not Bajirao. As for Aishwarya it would be quite a while, at least a year before she even contemplates returning to movies."

This, feel sources close to the project is nothing but an attempt to provoke Salman Khan who was the original choice for the role of Bajirao.

Says the source, "In 2002, Sanjay Bhansali was all set to start his most ambitious project Bajirao Mastani with Salman and Aishwarya in the lead.

When she decided not to work with him, Sanjay signed Kareena Kapoor opposite Salman. SRK was never considered for Bajirao's part."

According to sources close to Aishwarya and SLB, apparently baseless reports of SRK stepping into Sallu's role are being planted as a part of a game of one-upmanship between the two warring Khans.

Bhansali and Aishwarya remained unavailable for comment.

i was quite surprised 2 hear abt her return early next yr 2...becos she onli jus had her baby...she needs time 2 relax n spend time with her baby b4 she returns...as thts wt many former actresses hav dne 2...
i wud wish 2 c salman-aish bk onscreen 2geva (unlikely tho with their track record) bt they shared sizzling chemistry onscreen--they wer a gr8 onscreen couple.
personally i wna c bajirao mastani happen with salman n kareena nw... bt lets see wt happens...

Actually this article is more sensible compared to others like SLB casting Ash, she planning to lose weight to start shooting, SRK also being approached for the role etc etc.
SRK spoke of all his upcoming films in an interview. He would have surely mentioned it if he was in talks with SLB.

First of all they need young looking people to play the 2 lead roles. Srk and Ash hardly look in their 20s anymore, nor does Kareena or Salman. He should go with a young star cast.

Secondly its good she has decided to give herself some time, respect to women who can go back to work in 3 months, but the mother's body goes through a lot during a delivery and thereafter. It is wise to rest up atleast for while before getting back to work.

yh i agree... it is mre sensible than those...i mean i wud hav thrt there was sum truth in those if they cme out a few months l8r, bt she onli jus had her baby recently, the last thing tht may b on her mind wud b 2 hurry bk in2 films... generally actresses like 2 tke the time off n spend it with their family/baby. i guess she wud wna do the sme.
@bold... yeh he would have, altho sum follow the rule of nt talkin abt their movies til the time of its release bt i guess they do mention briefly whether or nt they hav been approached...
lets jus w8 n c...personally i wud like 2 c salman-kareena in SLB's bajirao mastani, bt the end call is obv SLB's... if nt kareena i'd love 2 c madhuri do a movie with salman... the Hum Aapke Hain Kaun days wer😳😳😳

Yep some like Aamir dont talk about their movies till they are done shooting. But SRK did mention he is surely doing Yash Chopra's movie and Rohit Shetty's movie. Shooting and promoting them will take all of his 2012. Where is the time for a SLB movie?

I knw the maternity leave is a bit stingy esp in the US. In europe you can take up to a year off work. The maternity benefits are good here and in the Uk you can opt for flexible timings once mothers get back to work. For e.g, a colleague of mine works from 8 to 4 and doesnot work on Mondays.

^^^Its pretty bad in India though. During the recession 2008-9my company fired all the women who were on maternity leave or part time (due to being new mothers). You either work full time or not at all. Not working at all is not an option for those who have to pay huge EMIs etc. Child rearings costs too have gone up.
