But exactly how important is box-office success to a 'filmmaker with a difference'? "Box-office success is very important to me. I don't know why people tend to think that box office success doesn't matter much to filmmakers who make films that are slightly different from the on-going trend. Box-office success is as vital to me, as it is for a hardcore commerical film-maker. It ensures that I can do many more films. At the end of the day, if I'm using someone else's money to realise my dream, it's a bit of an obligation on my part to see that the film has recovered its money," explains Nagesh.
