Mona Vasu: I did not turn down Yash Raj o

Ever since the rumors of her quitting the popular television serial, MIILEE, appeared in a section of the press, Mona Vasu, has been having a tough time convincing her fans that she has no intentions of quitting the serial either now or in the future. "It was a harrowing experience for me with close friends from the television fraternity and others calling me up round the clock to find out the truth. I was also misquoted about the show shutting down. Fortunately all that is over," Vasu reveals.

Incidentally, Mona has got some very promising offers for acting in films and is seriously considering them. "But not at the cost of my role in MIILEE. I will not forsake it for anything," she says, refusing to divulge the details of the project that is currently under consideration. It may be recalled that not so long ago there were rumors of Mona turning down a prized offer from Yash Chopra for acting. "That was also a misleading piece of information. I did not turn down the offer. I simply did not have the dates at that time," Mona reveals, adding that her official film debut news will be out in the next few months.

Meanwhile, she is eagerly looking forward to the Pakistani television series that she has been signed for. The serial is titled, 'Ruthe Naina' and is a 13 episode series for which she will specially travel to Pakistan. "I am aware that MIILEE has a tremendous following in India but when I traveled some time back to Pakistan I got a warm response there. It was overwhelming," she says.
