Zayed Khan tries his hand behind the camera

Zayed Khan sprained his neck while shooting for Harry Baweja's action-drama Speed, in Juhu, a few days back.
This was why Zayed couldn't attend the premieres of Fight Club in London and Birmingham on February 7 and 8.

Occupational hazard

Zayed, who's now confined at home, confirms the incident. "I should be okay soon," he says with trademark humour. "It's an occupational hazard! What to do?" Adds his business manager, R K Tiwari, "Zayed has been advised complete bed-rest for some time."

Wasn't warmed up

Says Speed producer-director, Harry Baweja, "The incident happened more than 10 days ago. Zayed sprained his neck while doing an action scene at a Juhu bungalow.

His stunt required him to be suspended from bungee ropes and do a flip. He needed to warm up for the action, but wasn't warmed up enough, so while doing the flip, he jerked his neck and sprained a muscle."

In terrible pain

Was shooting cancelled? "Yes, of course. Zayed's secretary called to say that he was in terrible pain and couldn't shoot. We had to postpone the schedule. Now we will do the shoot in March, which means I won't have a May release. But these things happen during shooting," says Baweja.

Another week

A friend of the actor said it would take Zayed at least a week more to recover from his neck injury.

Harry's next film, action-thriller Teesri Aankh — The Hidden Camera, will release on March 3.

The film has Ameesha Patel playing a blind girl, and also stars Sunny Deol, Aarti Chhabria, Neha Dhupia and Ayub Khan. It is based on the concept of hidden cameras and how they are used to exploit young women.
