The first theatrical trailer of Saif Ali Khan's ambitious venture Agent Vinod, starring Saif Ali Khan, will be out with this week's release Desi Boyz. Everyone who's had a glimpse of the trailer has been raving about it but it turns out it's not the trailer that was initially meant to be released.
So what gives? Sources close to Khan's home production Illuminati Films, which has produced the film, reveal that the initial trailer included action scenes car chase and Khan fighting and some romantic scenes. But it was later decided that since Saif plays the title role, the first theatrical trailer should focus exclusively on his character. Full of attitude!
Enter the second theatrical trailer, which shows Khan tied up while someone tries to extract some information from him. The guy slaps Khan and asks, "Tera naam kya hai?" Khan replies: "My name is Anthony Gonsalves." Cut to some action scenes and a chase focusing entirely on Khan. All this is meant to establish his character as a spy.
Cut to the same person slapping Khan again and demanding to know who he is. This time, Khan replies, "I'm Amitabh Bachchan." This is followed by some more action scenes and, of course, a glimpse of leading lady Kareena Kapoor.
