The After Hours 'Hottest Couple Of The Year' poll
Yup, it's official - the goddess of oomph Bipasha Basu and her beau, handsome hunk John Abraham are not just the city's hottest couple, they are also the most envied, admired and emulated twosome in recent history! To reach a conclusive verdict, After Hours polled 1000 people across all age groups in the city - one of the most comprehensive polls of its kind - for this special Valentine's Day issue.
We wish all our readers a love-filled Valentine's Day!
Don't you agree that after few years in a relationship, passion runs out of steam…
John: When you reach a higher level of comfort, there's a danger of taking each other for granted. But passion can be sustained if you are not together all the time. In our case, since we are more apart than together, it works.
Bipasha: I see a lot of couples who are totally into each other in the beginning of the relationship. So obviously their passion will run out of steam. It's easier when you start off by giving each other space and not expecting too much. Our career is fabulous for a relationship because we are never in each other's face.
Who's more romantic?
John: Initially I was. But now she is.
Bipasha: He used to be romantic only in the beginning to 'patao' me. After two years, he thought, 'Now that she's mine, let her do everything.'
What is the most romantic thing that you have done for each other?
John: Little things. I don't think we should let one day dictate romance. When you have someone special in your life, you can create romance even on a normal day.
Bipasha: On a Valentine's Day, he filled my entire house with rose petals. There was this huge red heart, almost the size of my bed! There were so many petals that my basin and my bath got clogged! But it was really cute. John Abraham is not a mushy man. It was just done to 'patao' me. He didn't have to, because I was already 'patao'ed.
What's the best thing that you like about Bipasha?
John: Her simplicity. She is so simple, down-to-earth and honest.
Bipasha: If I see something getting complicated, I withdraw. I believe in fairy tales. Every negative thing in love can be turned positive. I don't have to be a martyr for the world, but I am happy as long as my loved ones are happy.
When's marriage happening?
Bipasha: I am 27. By Bengali standards I am too young to get married. Fortunately there is no pressure from my family. Not that we have not discussed it. When I want to quit films, I will get married. I love my life with John. He is a whacko!
