Nana-John, on-screen Tom and Jerry...

Glamsham.com catches up with one of the versatile directors of the industry Milan Lutharia and quizzes him about his forthcoming film TAXI NO. 9211 starring an unique duo i.e. Nana Patekar and John Abraham. Director seeps out the tacit stories while making the film TAXI NO. 9211.

TAXI NO. 9211???
Milan Lutharia's TAXI NO. 9211 has created surplus amount of curiosity among the viewers as it has unusual naming. Satisfying the obvious curiosity of the viewers, he said, "the name TAXI NO: 9211, is quite relevant to the story of the film; which is derived from Hindi-lingual idiom 'Nau Do Gyara', which means to runaway. The title is quite apt, as it's a number plate of the taxi on which the entire story interlocks many consequences and the movie revolves around that particular taxi."

He further adds, "to be very frank, I cannot take any credits for the title of the film as it has been suggested by publicity designers. While designing the poster for the film, they were making the logo for it and they thought of number plate 9211. Later they suggested me that logo for the title itself. My reaction was positive as it perfectly matched the story which is more or less like Tom and Jerry cartoons."

Its first time in India…
Looking at the promos, the film seems to be a comic-flick, asking him more about the film, he said, "the storyline of the movie is quite novel for Indian film industry. It's about two very different personalities, which is portrayed by Nana Patekar and John Abraham. Both of them are poles apart and have no reason to meet but due to an accident by Taxi no 9211 these unlike traits happen to meet. And their first meeting itself interlinks many complications in their life. Moreover in their pre-complicated life; now they have got a reason to blame for anything distressing that occurs to them i.e. to blame each other for everything bad occurs to them. Finally at the climax, they realize that by blaming one cannot find any solutions to their problems but by looking inside their conscience they might find solutions to the unanswered questions of life."

Two extremities together…
With an unusual title the film also has an unusual casting, letting us know more about this unique combination, the director said, " the script required two very different personalities to portray the leads of the film. And to sketch the dissimilar personalities, Nana Patekar and John Abraham are the best choice as they both are unlike in many ways, in fact they are two extremes be it age, looks, attitude, sense of humour etc. Likewise we thought of creating chemistry between two extremities."

On the sets: Action, emotion, drama and more
Besides comedy there was something more to happen on the sets of TAXI NO: 9211, seeping out one of those instances, he said, "We were shooting for one of the action sequences where some cars are chasing John, and somehow his mother (Real life mother) happened to cross the road. And likewise she presumed that John in real life is being attacked and she panicked. We immediately stopped our shooting and clarified her that its mere shooting, and as soon as the misunderstanding was clarified she was calm and relaxed."

Lutharia, on S-factor…
Apart from unusual combination of Nana Patekar and John Abraham, he also has s-factor to woo audiences' i.e. Sameera Reddy and Sonali Kulkarni. Speaking more about versatile Sonali and sensual Sameera, he said, " Sonali plays Nana's wife in the movie and due to circumstantial problem she decides to leave him whereas Sameera plays John's lady love who tries to balance his life in a better manner."

Vishal-Shekhar, know for their foot-tapping music, describing their distinguished music, the director said, "the music of the film is extraordinary, it has four melodies, sung by Bappi Lahri (After long time he reminds) and also Adnan Sami. My favourite song is 'Meet around', where Nana-John does a perfect dance number. I must also say that we all (team) remarked them as a better dancer than Madhuri-Aishwarya doing in 'Dola re dola'. Moreover, its video will be soon released on 9th February i.e. 9/2 adds upto 11."

More on cards…
Milan Lutharia, director of movies like 'KACHCHE DHAAGE' and 'DEEWAR-' has lots of upcoming projects. Letting us know more about his future projects, he said, " I'm doing one project with Ramesh Sippy which is a love story, but the cast is not yet finalized. One more untitled project is also on cards, which is with UTV and it's an adventurous action-flick."
