He made his debut in 1992 with Kajol, in Rahul Rawail's Bekhudi. A couple of insignificant films later, Kamal Sadanah disappeared from the film firmament, only to resurface recently as the producer-director of Karkash, which stars Anoop Soni and Suchitra Pillai.

Positive character
Sadanah is back on the acting front, albeit on the small screen, in a Balaji soap. He will soon feature in Zee daily Kasamh Se, playing business baron Mohan Khandelwal. About turning to television, he says, "Why not? Television is a great medium, where the audience can see you five days a week."
As Mohan Khandelwal, Sadanah's character is sophisticated and clear-cut. "He is a magnanimous person; it is a clean, positive character," says the actor.
Adds Sandiip Sikcand, creative director, Kasamh Se, "The character of Mohan Khandelwal arrives on the scene as an old associate of Jai Walia (Ram Kapoor). The track has Walia and Khandelwal in the process of setting up a five-star hotel. Mohan Khandelwal will also be shown to have bought over Bani's (Prachi) Mount Abu house, which had to be mortgaged."
Smooth sailing
Sadanah was approached by Balaji. "I just received a call from them. I liked what they offered and I was on," he recalls. "Though I have heard several horror stories about working in a daily soap, so far, it has been good going for me. Right now, I don't want to do more television roles."
Negative shades
Sikcand says the show will have the negative character of Jai Walia's sister, Jigyasa (Ashwini Kalsekar), up to her tricks. "She will strike an alliance between Bani and Mohan, besides her other antics," he says.
Kasamh Se, which went on air on Zee earlier this month, revolves around three sisters, with the eldest, Bani, as the protagonist.
