Ramsay to cast Akshay in next film

Producer Keshu Ramsay has put the debacle of Family behind him and will soon launch a film with Akshay Kumar and Rajkumar Santoshi. "Rajkumar Santoshi and I are comfortable working with each other. Every time I want to make a film, I first think of Rajkumar Santoshi as the director. Akshay and I also share a good working relationship. So he will obviously play the lead," he says. Ask him what the film is all about and Ramsay chooses to remain silent about it. "The script is being worked upon. I can't reveal anything right now," he says. Ramsay adds that he plans to make another film with son Aryeman in the lead.

"That film will be different and it is not connected with the one I am planning to make with Akshay Kumar and Rajkumar Santoshi," he says. About Family bombing at the box office, Ramsay says that it is the audience that has the last word. He adds, "The masses have given their judgment and I, as a producer, have to accept their verdict. The box office collections have not been up to the mark." "However, I still don't know why the film has failed to live up to the masses' expectations," he says.

Tell him that the audience found it difficult to digest scenes that had newcomer Aryeman standing against a legendary actor like Amitabh Bachchan, and Ramsay says, "Well, the story is important. But I guess Amitabh Bachchan has a larger than life image. I still can't rationally analyse why my film has flopped." He makes his disappointment about his son's debut film failing rather apparent. "Which father wouldn't be upset over his son's debut film bombing at the box office? What hurts is that Aryeman had worked very hard for the film. He put in a lot of effort for this film," he says, adding that he hopes a better luck next time.
