Kareena Kapoor wants Salman as bodyguard!

What could be better than a long drive during the monsoons in a Range Rover with Kareena Kapoor? She comes across someone who has no starry tantrums and is very warm and friendly.

She was in Ahmedabad to promote her new filmBodyguard with Salman Khan. She inquires about the new things in the city and it feels like one is chatting with a new friend who was trying to know more about the city and not someone who is Bollywood's top heroine.

The talks gradually shift to her upcoming film Bodyguard where Kareena plays the character of Diya. Though her last two films with Salman didn't work, she is sure the tables will turn this time. ""In the past, our scripts let us down. While for my current film, our chemistry comes alive as it is based on romance. Audience have also not seen Salman in this avatar since long romantic hero. This film is a package of action, comedy and romance. I feel a script and character are important to make a film successful,"" she says.

Personally, Kareena hates to be surrounded with bodyguards. ""I don't mind having one, only if Salman agrees to be my bodyguard. Which girl would say no to him?"" she laughs.In reel and real life, Kareena is fashionable yet traditional. How does she strike a balance between the two? ""In the film, I had to maintain the Indian look and yet look fun and vivacious at the same time. Personally, I love to wear casual clothes as I am more comfortable in them,"" says this fashion icon who loves to shop only from abroad.

Not just films, Kareena is also ruling the commercial world. Today she is seen in a lot of commercials with Saif Ali Khan. ""I have been seen in the same brands that I am doing since years. Saif and I are seen together now as the brand owners have signed us together, it isn't something that we are promoting as a couple. I try and do whatever I can do special and different to stand out from the rest. I have worked hard and finally it is paying off,"" says Kareena.

If you are someone who wants to know more about Kareena, then she says that she has been busy with work since four to five years and has hardly got any time for herself. ""I haven't got the time to think about what I like to do,"" says Kareena on a parting note.

Talking to Salman Khan is always a tricky proposition. The fate of the interview, more often than not, depends on his mood. But we are lucky as the eternal 'bad boy' of Bollywood is in a great mood! He is very busy, giving back-to-back interviews for Bodyguard, his latest southern remake that is guaranteed to jingle at the BO this Eid. But if he is bored of answering the same questions over and over again, he isn't showing it. Sitting alongside Kareena Kapoor, his fair maiden in the film, Salman keeps everyone around him in splits with his witty repartees, antics and quirks. We catch the 'Dabangg Bodyguard' who is the most 'Wanted' man in the industry right now.

After the super success of Ready, the expectations from Bodyguard have grown even bigger. What do you feel about it?
I feel that after Wanted, Dabbang and Ready, there will be expectations and they (the audience) should expect a lot more from us! And I think it is my duty, as an actor, to live up to their expectations.

What is your equation with Kareena?
My equation with Kareena? (Thinks for a moment and looks at her, smiles and says hi to her.) That's the equation with her in my personal life. In the movie, my father, Balwant Singh is Kareena's father (Raj Babbar saab's) bodyguard. And because my father gives his life for Kareena's dad, I get an opportunity to serve his daughter. Due to my father's loyalty, Raj saab trusts me with the most precious thing in his life, Kareena, also known as Divya Madam in the film (says it in a sing-along tone).

A lot of people say you have almost become the Rajnikanth of Bollywood these days – you sign up blockbuster films that revolve totally around you, there is a lot of action, the films make big bucks… your take on it?
No, Rajnikanth is at a different level altogether. It's just that my films are doing well so all these comparisons come up. I am happy with my stuff here; it will be too difficult to be anywhere close to Rajnikanth.
