His intention could possibly be protecting his daughter, but the way he says it - "Women joining films never happens with dutt" etc, makes it sound sexist. On top of that he adds, how that's not what they have been bought up as and all - what does that even mean. You could be in a film industry and still be "safe" from all the negativity associated with the industry if you take the right path.

Its not the first time Sanjay has said something sexist, its who he is but I do believe he is trying to protect Trishala but based on her interviews she seems like someone who is headstrong and is very capable of taking care of herself. She's tough and I think she knows what she is getting herself into. At the end of the she's right it is her decision, she's an adult and Sanjay cannot stop her from pursuing something she obviously is passionate about doing.

He's daughter in an old interview said she wanted to become an actresss to be closer to her dad since he's always on the set. But now that her dad isn't working, she can be close to home for him. Why she needs to join here unless she lied about the statement she made

Agreed, but him saying things like she will have to listen to me etc puts him in the wrong for me. And true, I hope she chooses the path she wants to follow.

Trish has lost a lot of weight and has been taking hindi lesson in the US (read it somewhere)... shes determined to become an actress! his mother Nargis is a legendary actress... so saying Dutt's dont do this doesnt make sense! i understand hes protective but in this age kids do what they want to and its better to support them than push them away!

The Kapoors said the same thing (even though they married actresses themselves, such hypocrisy) but look at Karisma and Kareena now.
But really Sanjay Dutt has got some nerve. As far as I can gather, he's had precious little to do with Trishala, no thanks to some of his previous escapades and she's been largely raised by his in-laws who don't particularly like him. Why he thinks he can suddenly dictate her life now is beyond me.

😳 Well, he may sound sexist, but I think he just wants the best for his daughter like any other father! Bollywood is not the most glamorous lifestyle anyway. I think he is just protecting her best interests!

Yeh, I agree

I think he is just being a protective father! I mean he knows how Bollywood works, how they are 'affair's and everything, no one wants their daughter to go through all this! plus he was very happy when she was heading in law, he was very proud of her, maybe he does not think that big of Bollywood, because lets just face it, actresses today do nothing but show skin, look galmorous, and having affairs!

He should just let her decide what's best for her & what's not he has a right to give his opinion [as sexist as it may sound] but that's where it should end for him.
