Despite producer Ekta Kapoor wanting Saif Ali Khan as the lead gangster Manya Surve in her next venture Shootout At Wadala, the director Sanjay Gupta's choice has finally won. John Abraham will be playing the role of the dreaded gangster in the film based on Husain Zaidi's story. Although the film seems to be of the same genre as Shootout At Lokhandwala, a source said, "The film will have an ensemble cast which will be bigger than the one in the predecessor. Big names are being considered for the remaining roles. A call on the final cast will be taken soon. Unlike Lokhandwala, Wadala will see the heroine playing a very important role." Crime journalist S Hussain Zaidi has written the script for the film. Shootout At Wadala goes on floors in January 2012. Allan Amin, Resul Pokutty and Sabu Cyril have been appointed to head the action, sound and art departments respectively. The film will be shot in Mumbai, Pune and Ratnagiri. |
