Excerpts from the Interview: Are you a Mallika more than what friends ought to be? No we are just professionals trying to deliver our best in our works. We've a very good professional relationship. We share a very good friendship and there is so much care in that. There is nothing wrong to be a good friend to a sexy lady. I admire her for her down-to-earth attitude and her damn care attitude. This is a rare phenomenon for girls at this age. That is because of the comfort zone between us. We definitely share a very good chemistry onscreen. She's very comfortable and easy-going to work with. What about those news telling that you're protective about her? There is no truth in them. I have not fallen for her neither do I have a crush on her. So there is no reason to be protective about her. She can take care of herself, very well. What kind of film is Pyar Ke Side Effects?
How has it been working with Mallika? We got on very well from the first day we met. I first met her in the workshop and we hadn't started shooting for the film yet. She was confident and her sense of humour was really striking. People perceive her differently and she is very different in actual self. So are there any lip locking scenes in the film? Can't complain because we play lovers in this romantic comedy. So there may be two-three kisses. But everything went fine. There is Konkona, Mallika, Perizaad and Kareena. I always share a good rapport with my heroines. I believe that you should have a wonderful relationship with your co-star male/female on the sets. With understanding and trust you can be very comfortable while shooting and also deliver good on the screen. Who is your favourite male co-star? It has to be Manoj Bajpai. I've acted with him in The Whisperers. He is a terrific actor and also has a very good understanding of cinema. Other than getting friendly with the co-star what else do you so in the sets? (Laughs) In the set I relax and try to ease myself from the hangover of the character I play in the film. I never think of my role during that time. I rather prefer reading and listening to music. When I'm not shooting I take time out for myself.
I'm not very much sure about that take. I've decided not to get into married because I know that it won't work for me. Maybe tomorrow I'll think otherwise. I'm yet to come across the lady of my dreams who'll be undemanding and take me as I'm. What are the films that you're doing currently? That is a long list. I'm doing a film with Nandita Das directed by Santosh Sivan. There is Buddhadeb Dasgupta's Bengali film Kaalpurush, Aniruddha Roy Choudhury's Bengali film Anuronon, Pyar Ke Side Effects and The Whisperers. |
