Sonam Kapoor on a few of her favourite fashionable things | ||
As she sat slouching (but still looking so tall) on the make-up chair, surrendering herself to make-up magician Mickey Contractor in the green room created at Taj Palace Hotel, Delhi, Sonam Kapoor looks a pretty picture of poise. She has no idea of the storm she will cause in the next 60 minutes when she opens Manish Malhotra's show at Delhi Couture Week. Sonakshi Sinha walks by. "Hi Sona!" Sonam calls out. Muah. Muah. And then back to biz. Make-up over, it's time for the tresses. As Manish and Mickey fuss over her hair, Bollywood's resident fashionista decides to go in for a rapid fire with t2, very rapidly. You like walking the ramp? I love it. It's so much fun and you get all dressed up... But isn't that an everyday thing for you? (Girlie giggle) Yes, but this is different. What kind of a shopper are you? Well, I'm a very thoughtful shopper. I am very careful about what I buy. I am not a hoarder. I know exactly what I want to buy and I go and buy it. Do you take the fashion blogs seriously? No, though I do see what's on High Heel Confidential. I like that blog. What are some of your must-haves for pre-fall? Trench dresses. They look really chic and vintage with red lips. Then maxis, skirts or dresses, everything maxi! And 1920s fashion will be huge, Hollywood-inspired. The short hair, the curls, the red mouth... And lastly, I would go for everything modern, structured and artistic. What are the last three things you bought? A couple of dresses from Fendi... their spring-summer collection was really beautiful. I got a new Tod's bag. It's a classic D-bag in a tan snakeskin. And I also bought a Lanvin dress. I love French designers. What are the next three things on your shopping list? Well, I would love to wear couture but I can't afford it just yet! Eventually, one day I will. Also, Roger Vivier shoes and a pair of flip flops. Do you still split up your money between charity and shopping? Yes I do, about 30-40 per cent. But I don't like to talk about my charity work. Fashion-wise, what's the first thing you notice about a person? Shoes. What's your secret diet tip? Eating healthy. There's no secret ya... you are what you eat. Shradha Agarwal |
