I don't know how I feel about Akki in this role, but oh well! So glad Emraan will still be there...I hope they give Bebo a meaty role and not like what they gave Prachi and Kangana!

Maya, its all about commercial success for her now. I noticed this change in her post Katrina's success.

...
In her mind, its instilled this belief that work with the big names, get hits under your belt, and you will be hailed and loved and given title of top actress.

You are right.
Kareena is one of the most talented actors we have in bollywood today. It's sad if an actor of her caliber thinks that only hits matter at this stage. That Aamir and even Salman's film are good so she can take a chance with lesser known directors and play protagonist in smaller films. That would be a balance.

She should remember that her sister and Raveena had super hits with Govinda (a la Akshay Kumar comedies) but none of that counts now. Such hits are ephemeral. She will only be remembered for her good characters. Her sister tried to make a comeback after her first child but no one even offered her anything substantial. A Fiza and Zubeida too didn't make much difference.
The one with Imran Khan looks good though. Then again it's a romcom that will ensure her a big hit.

I liked Maddy's logic in one of the posts she made about why Kareena rejected heroine. Lets face it, actresses start doing these heroine oriented movies when their career is coming to an end and when their box office power is about to diminish. And we have so many actresses who are at that stage and their only way to get noticed is to give power packed performances. Aish has no star power as of now, no Khan would want to take her in their movie! Rani was also at that stage when Kjo and others stopped offering her movies, but Aamir came to her rescue. With Pri yes its true despite her flops she is getting a lot of offers, but still her box office power is nowhere near Kareena's box office power or Katrina's. And we have a lot of actresses around 30s who are doing these power packed performances kinda roles, Pri, Rani, Vidya and Ash.. and its getting a bit crowded. Bebo is in a way prolonging her career by doing what early 20 somes like Deepika and Sonam get to do in bollywood.. they get to do glamorous roles opposite top khans and they do rom-coms.. that is what bebo is doing at 30. When Deepika and Sonam will get older.. then Bebo would reach that stage.. where she would start retiring from commerical cinema and would start doing meaningful roles and heroine oriented roles.

Bebo has handelled her career pretty well. I mean she has hammed for more than half of her career but has still survived and reached at the top. No one thought that she would last that long, but she did proved everyone wrong. Amisha diminshed right in front of our eyes, PC's commercial career is almost dead, Rani's commerical career also died a long time ago.. with Golmal and 3 Idiots bebo saved her commerical career.. and is still competing with 20 somes like Katrina and Deepika and Sonam in terms of glamorous roles and box office.. she will have time later on to show her acting chops.. when she is about 35 or so.. till then if she can add huge blockbusters to her filmography then her status as a popular heroine will definately sky rocket..

i disagree with the bold line adios... much before her arrival in the industry media already made kareena in huge limelight...i am not sure how many people aware of this...but i could feel the heat right in 1998 when media already said tht kareena is the NEXT BIG THING in bollywood and soon be making her debut ...Eevrybody knew kareena would be a big star and at tht time nobody even saw her face...so even if she couldn't act a peny...media already gave her tht she could LAST LONG...very LONG...and yes i must say tht her hype from media before her arrival was much bigger than imran and ranbir...even media progressed a great deal in the guys times...but still they managed to make kareena a big star right before her arrival...so in tht case she is quite lUCKy FROM other big stars

Tweety yes Kareena was one of the most hyped star kids, but after a huge line of flops everyone thougth that she was done... she made a come back with JWM. No one used to take her seriously when she did those horrible movies with Akki, even in K3G.. Khushi... i would say that she was considered as one of the worst actress ever... but JWM changed everyone's perception. Yes she used to get huge offers, but she was getting quite unpopular coz of her antics and flops and a lot of people predicted that she won't last that long in the industry... PC at that time was becoming everyone's fave.. remember how Kareena even agreed to do a small part in don.. where PC has a full fleged role.. bebo's career was on a decline and PC's was rising...

yeah i know ... but in terms of media and hype and all tht she has been pretty lucky...as her flop movies factor nearly affected her...may be in terms of acting she was losing it ... but on the commericial front MAN she always had it...
it was in that interview of kareena with prabhu chawla in aaj tak when kurbaan released ... seedhi baat when he straight away asked her...whatt kept u still successful even after giving so many flops...u never had to struggle yet movies were raining on u no matter what...and kareena couldn't give much valauable answer just saying her luck and all dat.
may be PC had been winning from her but kareena was still in the race...till the time she has arrived i had always find in top actresses list...most of the time it was completely underserving looking at her awful performances...but i dont know what magic fortune she possess tht keeps her away from the harm...so i think she should be grateful to the media...i m not saying tht kareena is not talented...may be she is ... but at 30..its not completely out ...i am infact amazed how the critics appreciated even her most awful performances...even in movies like khushi.😕..so in tht case she has been very lucky and the route was always easy for her...but dats my POV...

^ I disagree with some of the comments.. Kareena was always good one out of her horrible film. She has a the magnetic appeal that captivates the audience.

Its not just luck that kept Kareena on top.
Kareena has this charm and screen presence that not many actors have, despite being in flop films, she would always emerge unscatch. It confused industry wallahs from the start, that how can she continue to go strong, flop after flop when most actors disappear after hte first one.
Apart from that, she always had a very fiery offscreen personality, which kept her in the news from time to time. She was a dynamite, on and offscreen.
