It is that time of the year again when film-makers, actors and everyone who has something to look forward to, gear up in introspection mood and decide what they wish to achieve out of the coming year. Glamsham spoke to a cross-section of the industry to find out what they had in store in the year 2006.

Tanuja ChandraTanuja Chandra:
"I am eagerly looking forward to the response to my film ROCKING in the New Year. The year that passed wasn't a very eventful year for me. The only release I had was FILM STAR, which wasn't an event at all. As a matter of fact, every film-maker wants his film to be understood by the audiences in the right perspective and I am looking forward to the film drawing audiences in good measure. The film has an intensely emotional story and great performances by Sushmita Sen and Shiny Ahuja. Apart from that, I am in the process of scripting two other films."

Govinda:
Govinda hspace2"I am very optimistic about the New Year. After a long time, my career has started looking up once again and I am hoping to give it my best shot this year. The year 2005 was a trying one for me, both on the professional and personal front but I and my family successful emerged out of the crisis. My daughter had 56 stitches on her face yet she managed to come out unscarred. It is an indication that God is with me all the time and good times have just begun. On the career front, I am working once again with my mentor David Dhawan. I have also rediscovered a whole new lot of friends and well-wishers."

Sajid Nadiadwala:
"There's nothing in the last year that I have not achieved that I'd like to achieve his year. There were a few initial hiccups in my production, JAAN-E-MAN, but I was not put off by any of it. In fact now that things are in order, I am sure JAAN-E-MAN is going to sizzle at the box-office in the New Year, when it will be released. Apart from that, one of the most important tasks on my agenda is to make more films. I am planning to start at least three new films in the year 2006. There are also plans to set up a studio and go corporate depending on how things shape up."

Sonu Nigaam:
Sonu Nigam"I want to be able to devote more time to introspection and meditation this year. I started off this year with a lot of yoga and spirituality but somewhere in the middle of the year, I lost touch with it due to my commitments. I had also decided to take up vegetarianism as a rule and I intend to stick to it in the coming year. I think it is very important to connect to yourself to be able to succeed in life. On the professional front too, I am coming out with a classical album that will enable me to relate to my strong sense of music and give me creative satisfaction. As far as playback singing is concerned, I'll continue to do it as part of my profession."

Siddharth Anand:
"I am planning to focus on the next film that I am directing for Yashraj Films. In my first film, I tried a rather unconventional subject and was nervous whether it would find acceptance among the audiences. This time, there are added expectations about my next film and I am hoping that I'll do full justice to it."

Sandhya MridulSandhya Mridul:
"I am looking forward to a very happening 2006, which will showcase my talent in varied roles. Among the films that I am looking forward to are BLACK AND WHITE, DEADLINE and THE GREAT INDIAN BUTTERFLY, besides a film with Luke Kenny titled, 13TH FLOOR. I am looking for more experimentation with roles in the coming year."

BUNTY WALIA:
"I am looking forward to my next production, JUST PUNJABI and this time I am planning to leave no stone unturned in making it a success. There are other subjects that we are working on for our forthcoming productions. I am also looking forward to the series of shows that G.S. Entertainment will be holding in April this year in association with Popcorn and the Moranis. It is expected to be a very happening event."

PRIYADARSHAN hspace4PRIYADARSHAN:
"Since my quota of re-makes is totally exhausted, I intend to script many more projects this year. Also, I intend to a different genre of realistic comedies, way apart from the loud comedies that one is used to. My MAALAMAAL WEEKLY, is the first step in this direction. CHUPKE CHUPKE and the film with Govinda and Akshay Kumar, will also fall in the same genre. Apart from that, I am keen on getting back to serious film-making on the lines of VIRASAT and GARDISH. I am in the process of working one such film with Sanjay Dutt."
