I'm the best: Salman Khan

Bharti Dubey, TNN | Apr 26, 2011, 11.48am IST

While Shah Rukh khan is gearing up for the release of his superhero film RaOne and Aamir is busy promoting Darsheel Safary's Zokomon,Salman Khan is not interested in either..

Reacting to a question on doing a superhero film at the music launch of his film Ready Salman retorted, '' I am not interested in being a superhero. I don't want to wear my underwear on the outside nor do I want to be bitten by a spider. I prefer being SAL-MAN.''

Strangely, Khan's event was held at Josh maidan where the Shah Rukh Khan starrer film of the same name was shot more than a decade ago. Salman said he was not very impressed aboutHollywood films and preferred films from South which have more heroism in them. He said, '' I like to go watch a movie where I can see my hero and who better than me. I think I better than any other hero.'' He even claimed to be better dancer than Prabhu Deva who directed him in Wanted.

The actor is the number one bachelor in India what does he feel about it. He promptly answered ''I will change that soon will just to minus one.'' He immediately diverted the attention to his heroine Asin on reports about their alleged marriage which the actress denied saying 'I know what you are talking about but it is not true.''
The actor also hinted that for his age and being a bachelor his average on affairs and romance is pretty low.

The actor known to help film industry workers felicitated employees of film city who had completely over 3 decades in the studio. Actresses Asin and Zarine Khan distributed sarees to the women workers of the studio.

Salman dances to Kareena's tunes

Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan More Pics
The much talked about item number in Salman Khan's forthcoming film Ready did remind us of Awara, Sholay and Muhgla-E-Azam.

Funnily enough, it reminded us of the 2001 film Ajnabee starring Bipasha Basu, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol.

Yes, and it had nothing to do with the picturisation of the song.

The Pritam Chakraborty directed tune of the song was more than a tad bit inspired by the song Mohabbat Naam Hai Kiska from the 2001 thriller.

While Pritam is known to be inspired by various international songs, this time he has been listening to Anu Malik, the music director of Ajnabee.

The Ajnabee soundtrack was a hit with songs like Mehbooba and Kaun Main. Will Ready be as good?

It's Salman, Salman and only Salman for 'Ready'
Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, April 26, 2011]

Promos of 'Ready' are catching steam and it is crystal clear that the makers are selling the film as an out and out Salman Khan starrer. With no pretence whatsoever in packaging a film which basically amalgamates off as well as on screen image of Salman, 'Ready' is not even trying to be different while making a direct connect with the audience.

"Yes, it's true that we are taking advantage of 'Dabangg' behind 'Ready'. We are not even trying to hide that and are in fact reflecting it in the promos as well," says Bhushan Kumar, head honcho of T-Series and also the producer of 'Ready', "It was always there in our mind that we had to make the best use of 'Dabangg' behind us. Even Salman bhai also thought the same and wanted the promo to convey this clearly."

No wonder, one gets to see a lot of post-Dabangg Salman in the film, what with his body language, mannerisms as well as dialogues living up to his image.

"There was absolutely no point in trying to be different just for the sake of it," continues Bhushan, "We have no intention of taking 'Ready' into a different direction. If you look at it, 'Dabangg' had only three things that it used for it's marketing - Salman, Salman and Salman. He was everywhere. For 'Ready' too we are following a similar formula."

No wonder, even though 'Ready' is a family movie, practically every frame of the film's promos showcase Salman in a role that requires him to indulge in romance, comedy, action as well as mass friendly dialoguebaazi.
