Why are older men ruling the industry? Not young?

but aki, sallu, srk, aamir have been ruling bollywood for decades. It's not like just because they are in their 40's they are famous. I remember because in 90's, people still loved them too much

If we get a good looking younger guy who can dance good and act good than he'll be rulling bollywood....but there hasn't been that young guy that arrived yet so hopefully soon

We havent had actresses who can act or dance good either but how did they manage to replace the older actresses? Simple, because all actresses have to to in bolly movies is to flaunt their body, jiggle their boobs and booties and have a pretty face. Bollywood is a world of sexism and double standards.

deepika can dance good and look good. But of course she still needs to improve on her acting. And all the top actors have improved their acting from their first movie until now. Even Saif said that when he watch he's first few movies he laughs at them.

But I can say that Prateik can be the biggest superstar but he don't choose commerical movies or romantic movies. I'm sure if he does those candy floss romantic movies, he'll be the biggest young superstar

yeah but deepika, sonam, Katrina and all have already replaced the other actresses, without even having to prove that they can act.

well it's because they took a break. Kajol could still be the biggest superstar but she wants to spend time with her child. Same goes with Karishma who looks million times better than ever. They want their family time and aren't interesting in going back to doing movies

but like I said Prateik can be the biggest superstar ever if he choose love story or light hearted movies.

But I seriously don't want anybody replacing srk, aki or sallu because I have grown up watching them and it'll be a sad day for me if they stopped making movies. I love seeing them on screen and I think they still have that charm

I've grown up watching the khans. Like others said, the khans have maaaany fans and their performances are amazing. I guess that's why the khans are still ruling 😛 and i want them to rule. I only look forward to their movies. They have the charm and all. It's fun to watch them/ and it hurts to say their era will end 😭but ranbir and shahid are catching up.👍🏼

The 40 plus heroes of today are amazingly well maintained. I remember a time when RKapoors and Rajendra Kumars and Sanjeev Kumars used to have to be very obese. In contrast the guys today are in their best form.

SRK is probably the only who does look a little old..but to me he is aging beautifully. Unlike the other BOTOX Khans.

How can we forget their charm/ wit/ and fan following...

The Talent, the Charisma, the Star power ... These 40+ Superstar Actors definitely have and so did the many other actresses who faded away like Sridevi, Madhuri, Karisma, Rani etc...

And why did just the men sustain... Simple... It just has to do with the biased, prejudiced, sexist society which we are in....

Everyone talks ... everyone will give good bashan on how we are in the 21st century... how advanced we are... how equal rights society we are in... Its all utter BS... Nice to talk.... nice to disuss... nice to give an image... but at the core of it nothing has changed....

The women who faded had nothing to do with them getting married at the peak or does it have anything with them taking a break.... Except for Kajol none of them married at their peak....The ones who got married right from Madhuri to Karisma was when their career was at a down hill....

All these female celbs too would have loved to be in the lime light.... If the audience was welcoming enough all of them defintely would have jumped at the chance to get back...

Will the audience watch a 40 + Sridevi or a Madhuri romance a 20+ Ranbir or a Imran.... No way...

Forget the 40+ones...bahuth door ki baath hai... Will the audience be ready to see a 30+ Rani or a Preity with Ranbir/Imran...

Why Ranbir Imran.... their was enough backlash when Rani was paired with Shaid and Vidya was paired with Shahid....

they arent strong enough to establish themselves yet... or they havent got their "perfect script"

most stars became stars because of some super duper hit movie

srk for ddlj(not that i am calling it a super awesome movie)

aamir for qsqt

salman maine pyar kiya

saif had his revival after DCH

vivek had a chance but then he took panga with the wrong crowd and did a series of pathetic scripts

when we have better scripts for the younger ones, the younger ones will rule!

That's my sentiment exactly. I remember on BIg Boss when Katrina came to promote Tees Maar Khan Salman asked her how does it feel to be going down from Salman and Akshay to Ranbir and Imran. He even joked that Ranbir will be calling Kat "auntie". Like come on, they're about the SAME age! I guess it's ok for her to star opposite actors 20+ years older but not guys close to her age. To this day, I'm pissed over that comment lol. Wonder how some of these young leading ladies feel being the Bollywood equivalent to geishas for big powerful men.

Yes they maintain their looks (for 40-year-olds) but the credit goes towards their plastic surgeon.

@ Bandicoot, ur right, roles/script do play a big part. All the decent roles are offered to the old actors because of loyalty to some stars/profit assurance. In turn, when younger actors (with no connection) land himself a movie, it is usually a low budget movie without a decent script and few promotions. The good roles are snatched/offered to the older actors. If it is crap and none of the oldies show interest they might either scrape the project altogether or reluctantly offer it to some newbie (very unlikely). To those complaining about not seing their favourite oldies, well, Bollywood is the biggest industry in the world (or so they claim), there's room for everyone. Along with them, why not include young actors (in decent movies!). I wish when their first pick to play a 20-year-old is actually close to that age, not someone in their 40s...the 40yr olds could play their own age if possible (but who I am kidding?)
