If they didnt have that whole saving the "Blacks" section maybe. That part was just ridiculous. Its like he went into the past - a century ago to find Wilhelma.

I heard that the whole chunk was edited out from the film later, when KJo realized that it was way too OTT.

yuck.....Kjo's melodrama is being considered in the oscars? Mtv teen choice would have been a better awards show for this one. But maybe Fox wants to own the Indian market for its future Indian films, putting it there would give it good global recognition. Good business strategy but a bad artistic one.

Peepli and Udaan were miles ahead of this pretentious preachy film.

I can almost imagine people laughing at the melo dramatic Georgia Hurrican scene :| :| and all that shit with Obama. It was shameful to watch rather.

Ugh why?😕 It was a dreary film with amateurish sentiments and it was totally inaccurate for the time and place in which it was set

I lived in Sacramento at the time and was raised in the Bay Area.
I won't even go into the caricaturish depiction of American black people which bordered on a 1930s joke.
Sure SRK got a chance to act as a character and he did a very good job, but if he wants to do real "acting" he needs to get away from KJo's pretty people with lotsa money formula (which he has already aged out of) and take a chance working with emotional adults who aren't in awe of him and who have life experience beyond cinema parties and being protected by their parents.
Really they shouldn't embarrass themselves like this.

Seriously yaar...I dont know what world does KJO live in. If you make a movie set in America (or anywhere else), do your research first and dont mock yourself.

That's a surprise....
Happy for Peepli.
MNIK could have been such a realistic inspiring movie and it ended up with ridiculous cliches and unecessary melodrama. I fear for the credibillity of some indian movies...but well the first part of MNIK is really good! And his character was challenging..but not amount of good acting can save a bad script.
Happy for the entry of indian movies...even if not on "own merits" but more about Fox distribution lobbying.
