Abhay gets eco-friendly in Goa
TNN, Dec 20, 2010, 12.00am ISTAbhay Deol has plans to build an environmentally friendly home for which he has already bought an empty plot in Goa.
We hear that Abhay's self-sustaining home will draw energy from nature like solar power, wind power to generate electricity to run operations in the house and also use things that can be easily recycled.
For this, he has also hired one of the best experimentative architects of the world Michael Reynolds to construct his house.
Abhay, who is also the ambassador of Gore's save the nature initiative titled Climate Project, India, will also talk to his industry friends to also join his cause. We hear that he has already spoken to the likes of Hrithik Roshan Farhan Akhtar and Imran Khan about his environment saving project and also plans to motivate others.
Abhay confirms, "I have bought an empty plot. I plan to build a house that is environmentally friendly. The idea is to make a self sustained home that has all the necessary amenities without being connected to the grid. It's an idea that has worked in other countries and something that can be a boon for our nation, where poverty is rife even though there is an economic boom."
Abhay also informs us that he will chuck shooting for some months in 2011 to construct his dream home.
